My self-summary
Thanks for visiting. I guess you could say I'm a huge geek with a stable life and a great sense of humor. I'm really into science fiction and fantasy, modern board games or party games and would much rather hang out at a kava bar (similar to a kafe) than an actual bar. Nothing gets me going more than a good conversation with a person of intelligence, humor, or especially both. I love experiencing things more than owning things and my ideal getaway is a camping trip in the mountains. Comedy is not just an interest for me, it's a lifestyle. I perform stand up comedy and I'm also a managing partner in Kava Komedy which produces live comedy shows throughout the bay area.
What I’m doing with my life
I do IT for a bank which is a solid career, but kind of a boring topic. It does give me the freedom I need to pursue my passion which is the comedy industry. I tried to actually be serious with my profile, but if you want to see my funnier side, visit
I’m really good at
As you may have guessed with the recurring theme, my best skill is probably making friends laugh, but I'm also great with solving problems and staying calm under pressure and I've got a pretty good head for marketing. I've also been told I'm really easy to talk to. People I've just met seem to open right up and tell me things like I'm their therapist or something. I don't mind really, it helps people to talk it out.
The first things people usually notice about me
Although I am a comedian and I've been told I'm quite funny, I'm not one of those obnoxious, "always on" clowns. I'm actually kind of quiet, reserved, and thoughtful, but when I do speak, it's usually hilarious or very insightful. I think people quickly realize that I can hold my own on almost any topic of conversation. I actually can get really chatty on an interesting topic. I kind of have an obsession with science and history because it uplifts my spirits. Every article, documentary, or story reminds me that no matter how life brings me up or down, we're living in the most exciting period in history and though as individuals we may be as small as grains of sand on a beach, the spirit and innovation of humanity as a whole is awe inspiring and amazing and each of us is a part of that.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
When it comes to books, movies, and television, I'm all about the same 4 things, non fiction, comedy, sci-fi and fantasy. I'm a discovery channel junkie most of the time, but for a bit of escapism, I love things that are going to challenge the imagination or make me laugh, preferably both.

specific books
The Mercedes Thompson and Alpha and Omega series by Patricia Briggs. I love wolves and these are werewolf novels very similar in style to Anne Rice From start to finish, I could not put down the Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones) series. The Hunger Games trilogy was great. The Wheel of Time and the Dresden Files are also favorites.

The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Sean of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Paul, At World's End, The Princess Bride, Braveheart, Holy Grail, Life of Brian, The Pest, A Knight's Tale, Labyrinth. Anything marvel, especially Age of Ultron, but aside from Batman, I'm not a big fan of DC.

WHOVIAN I'm a big fan of Dr Who and Torchwood. Currently, I'm also into Mythbusters, TOSH.O, South Park, Family Guy, The 100, Marvel Agents of Shield, and Defiance. Game of Thrones is absolutely amazing. Anything on the science or history chanels, except the reality shows will keep my interest and I record a number of them as well. I loved Stargate (all 3), Firefly, Lost, Merlin, Eureka, and the best series of all time, Battlestar Galactica. I'm not really a TV junkie, but I'm loyal to my favorites that get saved on my DVR until I find time for them.

I'm all over the map, country, jazz, hip hop, rock, you name it. If it is quality music, I will enjoy it regardless of the genre.
My favorites are Depeche Mode, Andrea Bocelli, Frank Sinatra, Nickelback (yes I still like them, despite the haters), and David Guetta. I like a lot of local and transient music too. 5 Pound Trigger, Applebutter Express, The Bawdy Boz, Betty Fox, Drop n Pick up, Meredith Marsh, Israa Kahn. I see lots of great musicians at the open mics I attend.

For food, I'm pretty omnivorous, but love meat. I don't think it would work out with a vegetarian or vegan.
The six things I could never do without
1) laughter
2) learning
3) freedom of speech
4) band-aids
5) ambition
6) a smart phone, google at my finger tips is one of the best things that ever came into my life.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
If Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson died, would black people still have opinions? Do homeless people ever think about going camping? Has anyone ever done nitrous oxide and ex-lax together for shits and giggles? What would I do if I met Amy Pond?

Mostly, I'm always on the lookout for new material and thinking about what I'm going to write next. What is dark matter and dark energy? Why does it take so much energy to air condition a home? other sciency stuff
On a typical Friday night I am
probably at Bula Kafe hanging out with friends or out watching live comedy or live music if I'm not performing myself or running a show. I have to admit I'm kind of a creature of habit. I have my Winchester. (Shawn of the Dead reference), but I'm open to a woman coming in and shaking things up a little.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I fantasize about Sean Connery narrating pornography like the voice over guy on an animal documentary. Picture it in your head for a minute.
You should message me if
I'm looking for a kindred spirit who also loves to laugh and learn and takes an interest in social issues.

If you also want a laser squirrel. Together we can make it happen.

If you can answer the following question.
What is the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow?

If Starbuck, to you, is a bad ass viper pilot, not a misspelled brand of over priced coffee.

You should not message me if you think Ayn Rand is a respectable philosopher. Trust me, we won't get along.
