My self-summary
I can spend hours reading, and I like moonlit walks on the beach - one of those things is true, and nobody can prove the other one isn't.

I'm kind of new to the Bay Area, and would love for someone to show me around, since I've recently discovered the concept of "free time" - having finally, at long last, finished school!
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a software engineer at a mid-sized company - and I love it! I'm basically getting paid to exercise my brain, it's great. I climb at a gym on a regular basis, and I even get to bike to work most days.

My main hobby - aside from reading - is game design; I assemble systems of rules to force other people to have fun.

I want to get into the SF cultural scene, but I don't even know where to begin - for instance, I've always wanted to see an opera.
I’m really good at
Reading. I read faster than anyone I know.

(Yes, that's totally a challenge.)
The first things people usually notice about me
My smile. I'm happy a lot. :)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
My favorite thing to do is read, especially science fiction or bad fanfiction (as found on the internet, for free!). Rather than picking specific books, I'll say my favorite authors are Terry Prachett, Eric Flint, and Julie E. Czerneda.

For movies, my favorites are anything by Monty Python, as well as The Lord of the Rings, and I'm willing to watch just about anything.

My musical tastes can be charitably described as 'eclectic', but I do love both classical and pop.

I like a variety of food, but if I had to pick a single favorite type, it'd be Indian food. And I love snow cones!
The six things I could never do without
My cat, a Kindle, both science and Science!, a few minutes a day spent in quiet contemplation, brainteasers, and finally... the Oxford comma.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to make people smile, and whatever problem I stumbled across most recently, because my brain doesn't have an off switch.
On a typical Friday night I am
Playing games and chitchatting with my friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
When my cat sits on me, I can't find the willpower to move.
You should message me if
You want to spend time with someone whose idea of fun is an afternoon strolling through a museum, hand in hand.
