My self-summary
I'm the calm, quiet type of guy. My sense of humor appreciates both the wit of Oscar Wilde as well as the farcical antics in The Naked Gun. I'm intelligent, but probably not as smart as I think I am. I'm not a people-person, though I'd like to be. I don't drink or smoke or do drugs because I've never been able to see the fun in that. Instead, I'm a couch potato that likes to get lost in books, movies and games. In short: I'm the jackpot, ladies.
What I’m doing with my life
Right now, trying to wrap my head around what it means to be in my thirties.
I’m really good at
Learning new things. Getting motivated enough to actually get around to learning those new things, now that's a challenge.

Also, I can be quite funny. Or so I'm told. By people who appreciate dry sardonic jokes.
The first things people usually notice about me
...are my handsome, strongly masculine yet also sensitive features and the air of sophistication, class and elegance around me.*

(*not necessarily true)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Favorite Book: Catch 22. I enjoy the works of Neal Stephenson, James Ellroy, Douglas Coupland, Terry Pratchett, Alan Moore and Brian K. Vaughan,... and so many more.

I'm a geek who loves mainstream blockbuster movies as well as arthouse indies. Give me a Will Ferrell movie written and directed by Paul T. Anderson and I will die a happy man.

To me, the best show on TV was The Wire. Right now it's gotta be Mad Men, closely followed by Breaking Bad. I like genre stuff like Buffy, Doctor Who and the Battlestar Galactica remake, the seedy opulence of Boardwalk Empire, Claire Danes' crying face in Homeland.

I eat food regularly, but rarely ever listen to music.
Six things I could never do without
Well, basically it would be anything that engages my mind: Storytelling media like books, movies, games, podcasts, and so on.

So, that's four. Let's add impressionist art to that list. And you.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I feel guilty about not reading as much about cosmology as I keep intending to. The nature and origin of space and time fascinate me. The idea that almost every element on Earth was made in the heart of stars, that we are all made of stars, fucks my mind like nothing else.
On a typical Friday night I am home, reading, watching a movie, playing games.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I may not be the actual jackpot, ladies.
You should message me if
... you feel drawn to inscrutable, challenging guys, who may have a lot to offer once you crack through their shell. I'm like a walnut, just not resembling a scrotum as much.
