After 6 years of working with street kids and other vulnerable children in Africa & Latin America, I decided to change course and in 2015 bought an adventure travel agency that plans trips in South America's Andean region. I moved to Bogota last fall as to develop new products there, but decided to move to NC in June 2016 as to be near family. I'll still run the biz from here now, and travel a few times a year to the region.
I've been to 70+ countries, lived in 4, and feel most alive when traveling. But I also love coming home, and I take great pride in being a "domesticated bachelor" who runs a tight ship at home, especially in the kitchen. Yet I believe that women and men do have some different roles, and taking the trash out is MY job!
Oh, and I haven't watched TV for nearly 20 years, although I just bought one for movies and the occasional Green Bay Packers games (after 2 years in Madison WI, I became a fan!). So if you are a TV junkie (especially 'reality' TV), we won't click. If you'd rather tickle the ivories on a piano (a baby grand adorns my living room), or listen to music by the fireplace, then you're my kind of girl.
I'm missing my former job though, running a family foundation that builds homes/shelters for street kids and other vulnerable children in Africa and Latin America. Of particular interest to me is the fight against human trafficking, and I fortunate to be involved in it through work and personal volunteering with a couple orgs.
