My self-summary
I'm a widow who is now looking to jump back into life with both feet. I'm a reasonably happy Christian woman. Comfortable with who I am. I'm looking for a man with kind eyes, laugh wrinkles preferred! I have varied tastes in things. Very open to trying out new things, foods, restaurants, activities (think I'll skip the bungee jumping though!). My favorite thing to do is revel in God's creations, he wields a most powerful paintbrush, the sunrises, sunsets, rainbows, rainshowers, a baby's laughter and smiling face. As you may guess, I'm very much a romantic. I greatly miss being 1/2 of a whole. The sharing of little things, being able to communicate, sometimes without words, with that special someone. That hand holding, sitting on the lakefront watching the boats and people, talking usually about nothing important, just knowing that someone is there when you reach out. I enjoy all the normal things, watching tv, movies, listening to music, preference oldies, country, mellow, Christian. Nearly all music. Enjoy attending live theater, mysteries, comedies, musicals. Not a big sports fan, but enjoy being with someone when watching sports, the excitement is contagious. I'm a great cheerleader at my grandson's sporting events (6-yr old t-ball, soccer, etc.) Don't mind fishing except I have been told to be quiet, I'm scaring the fish (I don't buy that one, though). I have 1 son, who has produced the most beautiful, brilliant grandson for me. I very much enjoy spending time with family. My church also means a lot to me and I would like to find someone who enjoys involvement in church also. Hope to hear from a unique someone who can appreciate me just the way I am as I'm too old to change. As for looks, just remember that it's just an outer cover that wrinkles with age. Beautiful insides never change
What I’m doing with my life
Adapting to retirement, it takes a little getting used to. Plans are to maybe do a little traveling (at least as much as my pocketbook will tolerate), more involvement with church, have done some working with the kids, also volunteering at the Maritime Ministry. Have joined a gym to get back to an exercise routine, need to for my health. Seeking new friends. Taking it a day at a time.
I’m really good at
supervising! Not really talented at much but I can "supervise" wonderfully (just ask my son - he doesn't always appreciate me in that respect - maybe he's confusing it with bossiness!). My boss says I'm really good at planning usage of space. Good listener, been told I'm really a good friend. Also I seem to be good at making people feel comfortable.
The first things people usually notice about me
I have a nice smile, am polite, make them feel at ease, like to dress casually.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I'll read mostly anything. Like the Bible, James Mitchener (I seem to be only one who does), short stories, Erma Bombeck, mysteries, comedies, currently finishing the final book in the Jean Auel Earth Children series; movies I enjoy animated (especially enjoyable with my 6-year-old grandson), The Notebook, Courageous, anything with Sandra Bullock, most comedies and mysteries; tv shows, all Law and Order series, Revolution, Dallas, Two Broke Girls, Big Bang Theory, HGTV shows, morning news, Gilmore Girls, old family series; for food, I like most of it, Mexican, Greek, barbeque, meatloaf and potatoes, seafood, most vegetables. Not especially fond of sushi, but will eat it, any good food.
Six things I could never do without
God, my son and grandson (that may count for 2), good friends, my hearing, someplace to be alone, rainbows.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Where I've come from and where I want to go in life. The realization that I spent a lot of time on getting rid of anger when all I had to do was put it in God's hands. Tomorrow.
On a typical Friday night I am
babysitting my grandson some Fridays, going out with a friend for dinner and conversation, watching tv (Tom Selleck at 9), or searching on internet for different things. Maybe to bed early.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm not perfect!! I may be a little spoiled, began when I was the baby of my family, and more recently by my husband (deceased 6 years ago) who adored me. I don't need things, but I like to feel special.
You should message me if
you are secure in who you are, are honest, trustworthy, if you don't need money, if you are willing to take me as I am, in return expecting nothing less from me. If you are not looking for a perfect woman. If you know that having God in the middle makes for a perfect relationship. Are looking for someone who can become your best friend before becoming anything else. Also, enjoy pampering a special guy sometimes, a nice back or foot rub at the end of a long day, bringing that cup of coffee to you on the porch so we can sit and discuss the day's plans or just hand holding, saying nothing. Don't bother contacting me if you are looking just for ain't gonna happen.
