My self-summary
Strong, confident, impulsive, and curious. An elemental Gemini, my air likes spontaneity, adventures, pleasure, and fun. But balance being one of my highest values, the earth is my nurturance of all those I love, the water is striving to understand my emotional body, and my fire is my love of mysteries, the attraction to strong personalities, the inner fire that burns when I am at hard work and falling in love.

I'm very easy-going, except when I'm not. There are a few things I really care about. Direct communication, gentleness, harmony, and play.

I feel most at home backpacking in the Sierras, Blue Ridge Mountains, Santa Cruz Mountains - I've never met a mountain I couldn't call home.

I feel most alive when I'm traveling, meeting strangers in hostels or on the street. Trying new cuisines, learning a new language, challenging myself, and connecting with others.
What I’m doing with my life
I've filled many roles in many kinds of workplaces. From barista to videographer, educator to immigrant advocate, housecleaner, and many things in between.

I'm most passionate about helping people obtain and regain health and balance, whether that is mental, emotional, or physical. My current incarnation is orthopedic massage therapist and rehab personal trainer. My work is similar to physical therapy.

I chose this path because I wanted to work with my my hands, my body. And fundamentally, I feel like I could make the most change through one-on-one relationships.

Now I'm questioning a lack of intellectual fulfillment, so I'm in a bit of a liminal, what-next space.

In the meantime, I'm making a home with some of my best friends. This is somewhat challenging, but very fulfilling and fun.
I’m really good at
Learning new things. Appreciating beauty. Being a loyal friend. Getting people's shirts off at parties. Tuning into animals. Kissing. Appreciating beauty. Nurturing my friends, family, and anyone who is open to it.
The first things people usually notice about me
My smile, dark blue eyes, and warmth. That I look way younger than I am.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I've been inspired by books like Reading Lolita in Tehran, Three Cups of Tea, Radical Simplicity, Getting Things Done. I enjoy books about Middle East politics, culture, literature, and people. Other authors I like: Tom Robbins, PKD, Augusten Burroughs.

I'm not really a movie buff. I'd take a campfire over a theatre any day. But when I'm home I love watching comedy, musical performances, and documentaries about social issues.

My taste in music ranges wildly. But I especially like passionate female singer songwriters, ambient, and world music. Musicians I like: Yasmin Levy, Tycho, Yann Tiersen, Santana, Cat Empire, Someone Still Loves you Boris Yeltsin, Adelle, Strunz and Farah, Sinead O Conner, Shawn Colvin, Florence and the Machine, Death Cab for Cutie, Cat Stevens, B52's, Dead Can Dance, Luscious Jackson, Vampire Weekend.

I like seeing live music in really small intimate venues. I've cultivated a special passion and love for Persian classical music. Also, I love flamenco.

I Looooooove food. I like to cook for people, especially Southern style comfort food. I eat Indian, Thai, Persian- I make a lot of those dishes. I couldn't live without gluten free crepes and dosa. I like to go out for a beer or have a glass of wine with dinner.
The six things I could never do without
My friends
My amazing sweet cat
Emotionally intelligent men
I spend a lot of time thinking about
People, motivations, character, interactions, the natural world, beauty, food, self-growth.
On a typical Friday night I am
A Friday is like any other day. Sometimes I just indulge myself by going to bed early with a book and my cat on my lap. But I also enjoy cultural events, live music, hot tubs, and cooking dinner with friends. Also, camping with sky full of stars.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Given that we're on the precipice of making the unknowable known, and the East, specifically the Middle-East, is a challenge and a mystery, I'm into meeting anyone from this region just for the sheer sake of learning what we can from each other.

I have a special love for Persian music, food, and language, and a fondness for Persian men. Is there a word for that?
You should message me if
Message me if you know who you are and what you want. I'm not wasting my time for anything less. Looking for someone with integrity who's seen strife and is open to learning from their own experiences and those of others. Someone who treats me like a lady, but accepts me as an equal.
