My self-summary
A dread headed yet old fashioned disciple of Christ who likes to think outside of the box. I value simplicity, community, and practicality.
What I’m doing with my life
Answer under construction:
am living in a missional community that spends a lot of time with people who find themselves homeless around Haight street or traveling through.
I’m really good at
* Im an ideas person, and a networker.
* I designed a tri-level functional living space that is a bed/desk/shelving area.
* I brew my own kombucha
* I like putting babies to sleep
* I get great satisfaction out of cleaning the kitchen while I cook.
The first things people usually notice about me
I was told by a lady at the Trader Joes that I have a Hollywood Smile and I look like Jack Sparrow
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Im pretty selective in all these categories, however eclectic as well.
* Books:
Desiring God, Knowing God, Knowledge of the Holy, Practicing the Presence of God, and The Cross of Christ. I also like Tolkein, CS Lewis, and a book called From Homer to Harry Potter that dealt with an argument for the value of Fantasy Fiction.
* Movies:
Simon Birch, Ghost Busters, Dances With Wolves, Enemy Mine, Monster's Inc, Willow. Shows: Danger Mouse, Big Bang Theory, Heros, Portlandia, Tom and Jerry.
* Music:
I grew up on the Beatles. I love artists' Mark Solomon, Alan Aguire, Soul Junk, and Michael Knott. These artists are old Christian alternatives, and are not well known. I love to jam out to Blues, Jazz, Classical (Tchaikovsky may be my favorite there), and what a friend says is Jungle Drum and Bass.
* Food:
I like to eat healthy, but not too healthy. Stir Fry's I love it spicy, sweet, and colorful. I'm into curry, fish, and a good bowl of beans and rice. I am not really into foods that are white, aside from whole grains. And I like a good beer.
Six things I could never do without
Sleeping bag, isolation mat, and hmmm… well I actually have a pretty tight list as one who backpacked Europe for 2 years. I like to live simply, but with the right gear. You'll hardly ever find me out of my carpenter carhardts and long sleeve button down with lanyards dangling from my waste keeping my phone, wallet, pen, knife, keys, and phone, ready at an instant.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to love people who are profoundly broken. Why God created us and how we should learn of him in this wild experience called life.
On a typical Friday night I am
Trying to nail down some last minute work before the week-end.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I time when to take the oatmeal off the stove in the morning by when my tea pot boils.
You should message me if
You want to team up with someone for life who loves radical people and longs to see their lives sold out to Christ, or if you would like to go for a bike ride and grab a drink pop me a message.
The two of us
