My self-summary
I like to ride bikes. A lot.
And figure stuff out. And fix things.
Write incomplete sentences.
I really like to talk. Good conversation is irresistible to me.
I've lived in France and China, and traveled to many places in between.
Currently I do not drink. I don't go to meetings; I just think it makes my left better. If you need to drink with a potential mate, I'm not your guy.
My main profile photo is very recent.
What I’m doing with my life
Working, eating, plotting art projects that I may never even begin.
I ride my bike a lot to stay in shape and be happier in general. In fact, I don't have a car right now.
And I make computers go beep. For money.
Also I have a daughter. She was born in 2004 (so I don't have to update my profile every year, and you can still ask me how old she is, since I didn't specify the month).

Ultimately, I am trying to reconcile my inherent selfishness with my growing belief that we are all connected.
This isn't going very smoothly on account of my inherent selfishness being so pervasive.
I’m really good at
Making jokes which are often funny, mostly due to the timing.
The first things people usually notice about me
How much more attractive I am in person than on the internet. Or so I like to think. :)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Tao Te Jing (Lao Zi)
Malcolm Gladwell
Gunter Grass
Salman Rushdie;

Jim Jarmusch
Paul Thomas Anderson
Stephen Soderbergh
Shane Caruth (Primer, Upstream Color)
Hiyao Miyazaki

I still think TV is dumb.

Music: Brian Eno mainly. The Velvet Underground? Lowfish and Solvent. Any sort of experimental electronic art rock/classical.

Food-wise, I dislike American food for it's wheat-centricity. I tend to eat Asian food of some sort for almost every meal if I can.
The six things I could never do without
I could answer more meaningfully if I was able to not take this question literally, but I'm a computer programmer, so I take things literally.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How we could have a better world, where people are nicer and more honest, and there are no strip malls, track housing, and (maybe) cars.
On a typical Friday night I am
Watching movies with daughter, meditating.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I don't have any secrets.
You should message me if
you realize that Donald Trump is an even bigger moron than George W. Bush.
