My self-summary
Most people write something about how awkward this feels, which makes sense since I'm really more interested in you than myself. But I get it - this is for you.

There's a saying that goes something like, "well, you die around 25, and then you're buried around 85."

Have you ever seen older people - our parents' generation perhaps - who have finally served themselves a slice of the American dream, only to basically quit life, settle into their patterns, and live each day on repeat?

I'm no fortune-teller, but that won't be me.

This year I have been on a streak of traveling every 8 weeks to uproot myself from my own patterns, to slow down, to connect with friends and family (old and new), and to make sure that I'm living life for today and not putting it off until tomorrow.

I hate patterns.

I want to be experiencing new things constantly, or gaining new and deeper insights into old things.

I'm afraid of the future too, but not as much as I'm afraid of being the same person I was a five years ago.
What I’m doing with my life
Writing my story.

...And teaching people why Popeye was the greatest role model we could've ever hoped for. Y'know, besides all the violence.

In all seriousness, (not that I wasn't serious), I'm a fitness and nutrition coach. I help people discover what's truly important to them, to love themselves, and how to actually practice their values.

I write a ton, read a ton, and spend an inordinate amount of time and money on travel and learning. If you want to rob me blind, just sell me education.

I host a meetup group because it seems I also really enjoy building communities and bringing intelligent people straight to my doorstep haha. (Community is the most important thing I never valued.)

Right now, I'm en route towards expanding my fitness practice to include functional medicine and considering going back to school. Y'know. Typical late 20s problems.
I’m really good at
Turning clapping and shouting into something presentable. I've been complimented by strangers on whistling.

The art and science of soft-boiled eggs.

Being cool when traveling and everything is going wrong...but it's all good because everything will be okay. Pura vida - as the Costa Ricans say.

Falling asleep while meditating.

Staying calm and doing hard things.
The first things people usually notice about me
That hissing sound my skin makes as it burns under the sun's deathrays.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I love playing instruments, and I may or may not love singing Disney songs.

So I listen to all kinds of things, but lately I've really been into 90s west coast hip hop like Tupac, Dre, and Biggie.

There's a metalhead in my soul and I finally just saw Metallica live for the first time.

I don't hate country or Nickelback but I'm pretty sure I figured out why everyone else does.

Forrest Gump is my all-time favorite emotional rollercoaster.

Right now, the best part about winter is Star Wars. So excited for December...

My friends all tell me Hey you'd really like xxxx show. And I'm all like, I know. So I purposely hide from it.

I haven't owned a TV in a decade and I love it that way.

I love when I walk into someone's living room and there's just chairs and sofas facing each other with a coffee table with books and interesting things on it.

But I don't hate when I walk in and there's a TV either. How else are we going to watch awesome documentaries on Netflix?

I love reading a ton. Usually books and audiobooks ranging from human body stuff, brain stuff, business stuff, behavior and social psychology stuff...

BUT I just started my first fiction book to break the pattern, Neil Gaiman's The Graveyard Book. I'm really proud of myself haha!

PODCASTS: Tim Ferriss, Joe Rogan, Under the Bar, Ben Coomber, James Altucher

I love everything in the produce and meat sections. Love love love red cabbage and broccoli and steak and anything encrusted with yellow curry.

Butternut squash and brussels sprouts, YES.

Sardines and other small fish, YES.

Fried plantains, YES.

Coconut milk changes everything. Vinegars and citrus fruits omg. Frank's red hot and Old Bay are incredible.

Most of the time I'm eating stuff like 2lb salads made of every veggie known to man (they're so good), and I really like deep flavors like yellow curry and mole tacos.

Spicy food is perfect, and I like trying traditional international cuisines as rich in cultural history as flavor.
Six things I could never do without
Musical instruments.

My delicious books.

A good chef's knife.

The internet and its infinite wisdom.

Friends and family (it only took me forever to figure this out).

And maybe my bike. It's just so perfect for getting around!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to learn more effectively; how to teach more effectively.

What kind of lifestyle I truly want to live and how to achieve it.

The infinite wisdom of the human body
On a typical Friday night I am
Sometimes I'll be reading, resting early, and preparing to wake up early the next day. Other times I'll go hang out with friends and maybe catch a music/comedy show.
You should message me if
I've been learning a lot about what I need in a partner so here goes:

You're ambitious. You think big. And probably even bigger than me.

You're not afraid of exploring your deepest darkest emotions and have likely done a bit of that homework already. (In fact you may even crave it.) But, you're also gentle with yourself and compassionate towards your hurts, your fears, and your shortcomings.

You're playful and curious, and you actually give yourself time to practice being creative. You and your inner child are bffs.

You like wandering, traveling and learning about other cultures, to better understand the perspectives of others.

You'd prefer to go to bed early and get up early to attack the day with a workout or doing something meaningful. (I don't care if you've never worked out a day in your life.)

But you probably keep a garden, meditate, do yoga, do athletic things, or something of the sort.

You're passionate, about ANYTHING. You've got that intense fire in your eye that only a girl who is on a mission to change the world, or maybe even just her world, could have. That's hot.

You're not afraid to challenge me, the world around you, or yourself.

You give real hugs. Real-ass mufuggin' hugs.

If that's you... well hit me up and let's see where the wind takes us.
The two of us
