My self-summary
A filmmaker, musician, writer, and overall observational & active explorer of the world. A deconstructionist at heart driven by sparse poetic moments and I'm diligently attempting to illuminate a lucid understanding of that which surrounds me. Or some convoluted rant like that. I'm also a total goofball and strive to have fun in each and every scenario. I love to travel and I love to learn. Warm conversation and laughter with open minds and kind demeanor's are just about the best things ever
What I’m doing with my life
Video documentation pays the bills, independent film production of thoughtfully crafted artistic works keeps me sane & playing in three bands just makes me grin and dance.
I’m really good at
Acquiring sleep debt, Jeopardy!, reading in noisy locations, procrastinating but delivering in the nick of time, making up music as I go along, troubleshooting time pressing dilemmas, and stepping back and enjoying something good as it unfolds.
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes or the fuzz on my face.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I can't even begin to scratch the surface but to hint at the cavern of love: (Cinema) Ingmar Bergman, Sergei Parajanov, Pier Paolo Pasolini, The Brothers Quay, Alejandro González Iñárritu, David Lynch, Woody Allen (Written Words) Jorge Luis Borges, Bruno Schultz, 'Papa' Hemingway, Nerdua, Kafka. (Musica) Mile Davis, Django Reinhardt, Edith Piaf, Hank Williams, Buena Vista Social Club, and I love me some Tom Waits when things get heavy.
Six things I could never do without
Memories, Cinema, Family & dear friends, Ivy cat, my ever expanding library of books, films & instruments, and of course adventure.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Life at the bottom of the ocean or the private thoughts of my favorite authors.
On a typical Friday night I am
Drinkin' booze while sharkin' tourists or watching Telemundo and washing my hair.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have more layers than I am even aware of, or at least that's what it feels like on most occasions. Even though I adore her, I don't really trust my cat with money. She has some impulse control issues. Also, Frida Kahlo is my eternal love and muse.
You should message me if
we'd have a good laugh.
