My self-summary
I'm not your average "native New Yorker--I've lived and worked overseas--South America, Africa and Thailand--and traveling is still my passion. I don't like to travel as a tourist, and I tend to buy the guidebooks and toss them aside when I get to my destination. I love art, and at home in Manhattan, I've filled my apartment with paintings and other reminders of my travels.

I am outspoken, friendly with a wry sense of humor, and am as diverse as the city. I enjoy everything from Szechuan in Flushing, the NY Philharmonic, durian (if you have to ask, you've never tried it), and I can't say I favor the Mets over the Yankees. I love lake swimming; looking around and seeing nature around me.

I have a "grateful" rescue dog and one of the greatest gifts Cody has given me is getting to explore the parks and streets of NY with him. He attracts all of the attention--but I get to keep all the new friends we make.

I'm looking for someone who will join me on one of these excursions, who will add stamps to my passport, and will enjoy the adventures we can have together.
What I’m doing with my life
Figuring out the next phase of my life. But mostly adhering to my NY resolution to meet a special significant other. I'm content, but I am feeling that lack of intimacy grow as I do.
I’m really good at
...am really good at making you laugh, making you feel comfortable and great conversation. I love lake swimming, mountains, eating and just about anything with the right company--or on my own.
The first things people usually notice about me
My smile, my big eyes, and my dog--not necessarily in that order!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I loved The Elegance of the Hedgehog, so original. I'm reading Michael Ondaaje's, the Cat's Table-also really great. I recently read a nonfiction about the Cherokee Indians, fantastic read.

Love mostly independent films, that said, I really liked Lost In Translation a few years ago now. Other People's Lives, a wonderful (Polish?) film, and many others.

Totally into Homeland!

One of the stand out live performances I've ever seen that combines opera and theatre is Phillip Glass' opera, performed in Sanskrit. It's other worldly.
The six things I could never do without
The NY Times, books, my iphone, my dog, family and the possibility of adventures.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How frightened I am of our ultra-conservative, crazies that have taken over the Republican party, and where to move if Trump makes it into the White House!
On a typical Friday night I am
I don't know that Friday is much different than any other night of the week. Depends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Isn't this a public site?
You should message me if
You are not type A. Have a good sense of humor-and appreciate it in others. Have a solid sense of self.
