My self-summary
I'm short, fat, intelligent, silly, down to earth, a nerd, caring, messy, encouraging, fun, understanding, friendly, goofy, low-maintenance, open-minded. When I make mistakes, I own up to them. I give credit where credit is due. I know next to nothing about cars or sports, but I love to learn.

Sometimes I'm logical, sometimes I'm ridiculous, often I'm both at once. Sometimes I'm sarcastic, sometimes I'm sincere, and I'll always appreciate a little alliteration. ;) I have my own mind and I'm not afraid to use it or ashamed to speak it, so long as what I have to say is respectful (if it's not, I'll usually find a different way to say it, or I won't say it). Respecting others is huge for me. I'm trustworthy, and I don't make promises I can't keep, so let's just be honest:
My room is almost never clean. I bite my fingernails. I rarely leave the house on time. The smell of seafood makes me nauseated. I drive too fast (but I always use my blinker!). I burp a lot. I sweat a lot. I swear a lot. I laugh too loud. I'm clumsy. My skin is far from flawless. I snore.

And if you get to know me, you'll realize how totally awesome I am.
True story.
What I’m doing with my life
I have a BA in Radio, TV, and Film from San Jose State. I'm the theatre technician at a local comedy club. I'm also a freelance stage manager and have worked for several local theatre companies. I also love working in post production audio for visual media, specifically as a sound designer/editor and/or foley artist/editor.
I’m really good at
Talents: I am very gifted at losing things I just had a second ago, and finding things to bump into. Tripping on my words and making strange noises. Burping. I wouldn't say I have a knack for them, but I love puzzles, especially word games. I do have a knack for performance: I'm an alright singer and a good actress, and I used to dance (though I wouldn't say I was great at that, haha). I excel at giving hugs and compliments.

Professionally: Stage managing (and thus handling situations with lots and lots of responsibility and stress), sound design and editing, theatre in general, leadership, communication, conflict resolution, brain storming, multi tasking, organizing things, taking notes.

Personally: Being honest, laughing, listening, being silly, helping people, squealing at cute things, being friendly, staying up too late, getting caught up in stories, procrastinating, being open minded and nonjudgmental, encouraging people.

I'm really good at taking things slow. You're welcome to message me, but don't expect to get me on the phone or meet in person within the first 2 weeks. I take things very slow. First, I'm fine with sending messages back and forth for a few days. If we get along well, then maybe we can chat online for a few weeks. And then maybe we can talk on the phone for a while. And then maybe — MAYBE — if I feel really comfortable with you, then MAYBE we can meet in person. I take things very slow, and I'm not ashamed of that. I'm not looking for a quick and easy hook up or fling. I'm looking for something real, that builds up over time. If you're not willing to put in the time, you should probably look elsewhere. I'm just being honest.
The first things people usually notice about me
From what I've been told, people notice my smile and big dimples, and they can tell that I'm very friendly and welcoming. They may also hear my laugh before they see me. Hehehe
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I love entertainment. I love being entertained and being involved in the entertaining of others.

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy is my favorite everything. Fight me.

Movies: I love (in no particular order): Quirky and/or evocative one-offs like Amelie, The Theory of Everything, The Princess Bride, Slumdog Millionaire, and Groundhog Day; Adaptations of classics like 10 Things I Hate About You, Clueless, and Much Ado About Nothing (1992); SciFi and Fantasy films like The Fifth Element, Pacific Rim, Star Wars, and The Hunger Games series; Comic Book films (mostly Marvel) like Deadpool, X-Men: FC & DOFP, The Avengers 1 & 2, Captain America: TWS, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, and Kick Ass; Musicals like Moulin Rouge!, Sweeney Todd, Into the Woods, Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog, and most Disney animated musicals; Disney/Pixar films like Up!, WALL•E, and Inside Out; and many more!

TV: Top picks include Doctor Who, Parks and Recreation, Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, Miranda, Supernatural, Firefly, Pokemon, Top Gear (UK), and So You Think You Can Dance. I love mysteries like Inspector Lewis, Father Brown, New Tricks, Poirot, Bones, and Sherlock. Ones that I love but I'm way behind in: Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, Castle, Misfits, Psych, Fresh Off The Boat. I also enjoy HGTV shows.

Books: The Lord of the Rings Trilogy and The Hobbit (duh). John Green books; the Harry Potter series; The Hunger Games trilogy; The Giver; The Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat; The Mating Mind; The Harper Hall Trilogy; The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Music: I have super eclectic taste in music, and I can listen to nearly any genre. I go through phases, but I always return to 90s alt rock, and alt and/or indie rock, and classic rock...basically rock in general. I love lots of what I've heard from many, many, MANY artists, but I'm not super into any particular band or artist, except Ella Fitzgerald. She is a god. I am currently most interested in jazz, blues, soul, and funk music, and Post-Modern Jukebox.
The six things I could never do without
(the generic stuff: friends, family, food, air, water, blah blah blah)
1. laughter and hugs
2. my glasses/contacts
3. my water bottle, filled with ice water
4. intersectional feminism
5. air conditioning and fans (I get overheated really easily)
6. chapstick
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Social justice. Doctor Who. Hugs and cuddles. Overthinking people's behavior. Lasagna. New Zealand.

Why is a song describing the killing spree of a murderer one of the most swingin' and fun songs ever?
On a typical Friday night I am
Working. Oh, the joys of working in the entertainment business. It's kinda difficult for me to get weekend nights off. :-/
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
IMPORTANT: I have a compromised immune system, so for my well-being, sexual flings are not an option for me. I can't risk contracting an infection. STD tests are a must. If that's not okay with you, please move along.

For more, see the last paragraph of my self-summary, if you haven't already read it. I get real honest there.

Also, I know that I'm overweight. I do want to be healthier. I used to do high impact exercise and work out intensely, but then I started having joint problems…. I now enjoy low impact exercise and work outs like yoga, but I don't do them nearly enough. It'd be nice to have a buddy or partner to do them with. Someone to help me stay focused and encourage me. :)
