My self-summary
Hey! How are you? My name is Andre and I'm a man of many "isms". I'm 29 going on about 35 or so, and I'm definitely an old soul. I'm an independent guy (this means my own place, car, and stable income) and I'm very driven. I put my all into everything I do, whether it's my career, relationships, or writing.
I'm not the smoothest person on earth, and I don't know how to play "the game," especially online, but what I can offer is someone who is honest, loyal, and genuine (which are traits that are very underrated in today's world. I'm also passionate about everything (especially teaching, learning new things, and listening to what people have to say).

Also, I dislike very few people because...well...frankly, it takes too much energy to hate someone, and I don't that kind of energy to waste, so why do it?? I try to see the good in people. I'm also very forgiving and believe in redemption.

For entertainment, I love watching sports, writing, going to parks, discovering new restaurants, music, reading, going to the occasional play, and much more. I'm a well-rounded guy.

I'm looking for someone who will invest in me and get to know me on a deeper level, just as I would do for them. Someone honest, encouraging, loyal, and someone who COMMUNICATES!! I can't stress that one enough! I'd also like someone with some amount of intelligence. You don't have to be a Rhodes Scholar or anything, but 2+2 does not equal 5, and I'd really rather you not think it does. Also, "soooooo....what do you want to talk about?" should not be the staple of a conversation. That's middle school stuff. I'm a grown man. With that being said, I don't need someone who is exactly like me. I don't want to date me, I'm with me all the time. Differences can definitely be embraced. I care more about personality than looks, I just ask that you shower. Regularly. Please.

I'm an ISFJ if that means anything to you.

Lastly, if you got this far, thank you for reading! Feel free to send me a message if you'd like to have some genuine conversation. I'd love to hear from you!
What I’m doing with my life
I recently graduated from Newman University, and I am now teaching 6th grade Language Arts, hoping to make a (positive) difference in the lives of kids. I also play basketball (at least) once a week which has helped me get back into shape.

Also, I'm blogging again, so that's exciting! Check it out if you'd like:
I’m really good at
Writing (mainly journaling, but I can write a good story as well), singing off key, reading, playing and watching sports, eating (buffets are a man's best friend...sorry dogs), listening to people, and encouraging others.
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably that I smile a lot and have a loud laugh that I utilize often. Also, that I dress well and speak proper English. This doesn't mean I'm necessary a grammar Nazi, however. I just like for people to understand the words that are coming out of my mouth.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
TV shows: I'll just start with the current ones: Parks and Recreation, Parking Wars, Parenthood, Pawn Stars (and apparently shows that start with a P), Meet the Browns, House of Payne, Storage Wars, Beyond Scared Straight, Lizard Lick Towing, Alaska State Troopers, Modern Family, Wheel of Fortune, Hardcore Pawn, Shipping Wars, Undercover Boss, and whatever's on ESPN (especially Around the Horn and First Take).

Music: Anything lyrical. Lyrics are extremely important to me, which makes my taste in music extremely diverse. Some of my favorites are: Thousand Foot Krutch, Red, 90's music, Jon McLaughlin, Mat Kearney, Lifehouse, Brian McKnight, Eminem, John Mayer, Dave Barnes, Sara Bareilles, Ingrid Michaelson, older Papa Roach, Linkin Park (especially their first two cds), Breaking Benjamin, Montgomery Gentry, Carrie Underwood (the old stuff). I love when music can take you on a journey.

Food: Chick-Fil-A, Chipotle, Riverside Cafe, Culver's, Whataburger

Books: Mainly literature for my classes, but I also like biographies and memoirs.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
A lot of things that happen in life. My brain rarely shuts off! Current thoughts:
-Why is honest, genuine conversation such a lost art?
-My next double cheeseburger
-Why on earth do people not wash their hands after using the bathroom? That's freaking gross!
-Music seems to have a certain effect on me at night that it doesn't during the day. Hopefully that thought makes sense.
-Why on earth I can't pronounce the word "athleticism" correctly
-Apparently, I can't pronounce "breakfast" correctly either
-For some reason, it brings me pure joy to see people get pulled over.
-The Golden Rule will get you far
On a typical Friday night I am
Depends on the Friday. Final Friday, hanging out around the house, doing something sports related, reading, serving others, etc.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
-I'm lactose intolerant *eats a scoop of haagen-dazs ice cream*
-I can't sing and play an instrument at the same time. It's sad.
You should message me if
Any of these apply to you...
-If you're an old soul!! We old souls need to stick together these days!
-You like intelligent men, and love to have/carry on good conversations
-You're okay with someone who genuinely cares what you have to say and takes the time to respond to the things you tell them
-If you like to laugh
-If you like Mat Kearney
-You watch sports
-You like 90's music so we can match, I mean discuss 90's music
-You like Parks and Recreation
-You know what Crazy Taxi is
-You know who Brant Hansen is
-You think you can beat me at Scrabble or Words With Friends
-Or if you'd just like to chat for any reason :)
