My self-summary
I like going to playgrounds and swinging when no one else is around. I like the sensation of floating in water more than nearly every thing else. It's truly rare when I don't have a smile on my face, and I choose to find humor in the world lest its reality becomes all too depressing. I find blushing very attractive. I think that going to the movies alone is a declaration of power. I jump up and down and applaud when I'm pleased by something, usually while giggling. I love when a gentleman opens a door or pulls out a chair for me, because I am a lady. I think cult movies capture the uncomfortable, inappropriate, and dirty beauty of life. I like words that sound like what they mean, like 'apropos" and 'belligerent'. I know way too much about pop culture. I don't believe that true friendship can exist without the ability to mock one another, or the ability to know when to stop. I can't spell to save my life. I like looking for the fuzzy grey areas of life. I am nearly a human juke box. Indeed is my favorite word. I love chocolate cake.
What I’m doing with my life
Working as much as I have to and playing as much as I can. I work in travel both near and far as much as possible, but I could always use more. I attempt to find time to keep expanding my knowledge of various topics that interest me as well through various forms of media. I'm kinda a geek-of-all-trades who floats from nerdy hobby to nerdy hobby...
I’m really good at
Working on my body as well as my mind. I work out frequently and try to keep my education active. I occasionally find time to be a very amateur writer. I've recently found a love for writing critical reviews for the arts, and in particular for film. I adore making random, obscure pop culture references, and I live for when people know them without having to have them explained. I've been told that I sing pretty well (I rock the karaoke when I go), and if you get me tipsy I just may dance. And I'm crafty. I knit/crochet, make rather artistic collages if I do say so myself, and I make cross stitch patterns from pop culture references (I made the Contra logo for one friend and Master Shake for another...currently working on Crow from MST3K...).
The first things people usually notice about me
I would love to say that people notice my eyes because they reveal so much about a person. I would love for people to notice my wit and intellect because they are plentiful. I would love if people noticed my eyebrows cause I think they are the most expressive and sexy part of a person's face. But if I were to be honest I would have to say my tits. Yea...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
a)Fight Club, Invisible Monsters, anything else by Chuck Palahniuk, The Collector, many, many plays, Lord of the Flies, The Great Gatsby, Kurt Vonnegut (most specifically Cat's Cradle), Devil in the White City, J.D. Salinger, Beloved, comix (especially Robert Crumb work), the Sandman series, Watchmen, Arkham Asylum, The Giving Tree

b)Fight Club, Bronson, Titus, American Splendor, Office Space, Old Boy, High Fidelity, Se7en, Secretary, Dead Poet's Society, The Outsiders, Snatch, Run Lola Run, Memento, The Big Lebowski, The Game, American History X, Anchorman, Four Rooms, White Oleander, Vanilla Sky, Waking Life, History of Violence, Pulp Fiction, American Psycho, Devil's Rejects, Claymation Christmas, Creature Comforts, Donavan's Reef, The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and anything by Stanley Kubrick.

I adore cult movies such as Evil Dead, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Reefer Madness, art-house Asian films (read as Ichi the Killer, Audition, etc.), and tons of horror movies.

c)truly a bit of everything (except opera. I've tried. I just don't dig on it). I love my rock and jazz, but I also enjoy country, dance music, trance, hip-hop (not rap - there is a difference), pop-punk. Right now I'm really into more independent music with a bit of a out-of the mainstream edge. Read as Eagles of Death Metal, Gluecifer (RIP), Death From Above 1979, and Brandtson (although I've been following them for literally since they were a true emo band, before the term was taken over by nevo-goth kids).

oh! and I also love, love, love my podcasts. I listen to five every week. It's how I keep up with my NPR. Yep. Huge nerd over here. Huge.

d)I could eat for an hour straight, feel like I am about to burst, and start to cry from the pain of an expanded stomach, and I could still eat Creme Bruelle or Tiramasu. Love wine and good beer. Beyond that, pizza, sushi, Chipotle chicken burritos, coffee, chocolate, milkshakes, very vanilla soy milk, Lucky Charms, Mediterranean fare, Helluva Mess from Sally's Diner, pancakes, fresh mozzarella, steak, many forms of soup, chinese, and I make the best chicken enchiladas in the world. Don't even bother challenging me. I just perfected it bitches!
Six things I could never do without
Naps, the ability to travel both near and far, film/art/music, my friends/family, my cell phone/ the interwebs, and good food.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Planning my time, random trivia, the happiness of my friends and family and how I can increase it, what I should be doing at any given moment but I'm not for whatever reason, and ... ya know ... whatever pops in there. I have my more existential moments as well ...
On a typical Friday night I am
Hopefully out with friends doing something fantastically entertaining, at a concert, seeing a new movie, doing something seasonal outdoors, or exploring new parts of our oh-so-familiar city to both find new experiences and rediscover old ones.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I can touch my elbows behind my back. Really.
You should message me if
If you think I'm super awesome.
