My self-summary
I am not the sort of person who can be accurately described solely by her appearance, so if your intent is to know a little something about me, you should read on. And, if that isn't your intention, you should close out of this profile now.

I'm a lover of many forms of art, science, and the culinary world. I appreciate creativity, practicality, out-of-the-box thinking and readily admit to both having my head in the clouds and my feet planted firmly on the ground (despite not being that tall). I'm an event photographer, working mostly in the music industry and occasionally some fashion and combined digital art projects. It's a crazy world, but I love it all the same.

I'm a huge nerd for all things space-related (except scifi stuff -- very little of that). The complexity of the universe is fascinating, and if you wanna talk about cool physics stuff, I'm totally down. Also mycology. I am weirdly fascinated by mushrooms and I will totally nerd out about it if given the chance.

I like to continually challenge myself to expand my knowledge of the world, be it through science, culinary pursuits, or art, and I enjoy surrounding myself with people who aid toward that goal.

I'm somewhere between INFJ and INTP.

I'm not put off by differences between myself and other people (race, gender identity, sexuality, body type, butch/femme/queer, etc. -- though I *do* have a preference for switches) and I'd hope you wouldn't be either.
What I’m doing with my life
I've spent a good portion of my life working as an artist in various forms (photography mostly, but also jewelry design and some other stuff). I intend to keep doing that, but I've been thinking about switching gears and heading into the science world (hoping for astronomy, but I'm not 100% sure yet) as a primary focus. Don't know how that'll work out, but we'll see.

I'm a pretty ambitious person and, while I've achieved a lot of goals so far, I'm constantly coming up with new ones. I've done some pretty awesome stuff, but there's way more to come.
I’m really good at
Cooking, talking, being both organized and disorganized, takin' pictures, digital art/photomanipulation, jewelry making, cosmetics, being a teeeeny bit of a control freak during photo shoots. I tend to show up to venues early to talk to the lighting guys to make sure they've got a handle on what needs to happen lol. It's saved my ass more than once.
The first things people usually notice about me
Physically, usually my eyes, smile, or voice.
Personality-wise, that I'm well-spoken and can be rather blunt.

I don't know if I'd say this is a first impression people get from me, but this is how someone once described me:
"you're very strong, and very different and complex, and you don't give a shit haha".
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: To be honest, I have a hard time finding books that I enjoy. I love Journey To the Center of the Earth, and a while back came across a really strange and awesome book called the Raw Shark Texts, but I'm not too sure what else I'd like. Had a friend give me a Vonnegut book but it was too depressing for me, so y'know, I'm open to suggestions .

Movies: Grindhouse (Death Proof, particularly, though Rose McGowan with a machine gun for a leg was pretty badass), the Chinese Botanist's Daughters, Half Baked, the Great Gatsby, Donnie Darko, Sucker Punch, The Recipe, Memento, Mao's last Dancer.

TV Shows: Orange Is The New Black (Laura Prepon can SO be my prison wife, even if she is a scientologist), Castle (oh, captain <3), Firefly, Bob's Burgers, Archer, Chozen, Are You Being Served (Mrs. Slocombe's pussy <3), Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries (LOVE the wardrobe on that show), Glee (don't judge me), MST3K, Good Eats, Big Bang Theory, Orphan Black, and even though it took me a while to warm up to it, the IT Crowd.

Music: While I love many sorts of music, the soundtrack to my soul undoubtedly contains large amounts of drum & bass, especially of the liquid variety. Sigma, Etherwood, Lung, Technimatic, Submorphics, argh, just SO many. I could list them for days, but I'll spare you. I'm a hardcore junglist (oi oi!), and if you are too, we might get along. ;) If you're unaware of dnb, however, please feel free to educate yourself:
Boh Etherwood! His production skills are magic, and those vocals are pro.
(Sound quality and bass are hugely important here, so please, HD and good headphones or a proper system only)
Apart from that, I've been pretty into The Internet (the band) lately... and I also love electroswing and/or modern takes on regular swing (the Correspondents, Alice Francis, Caravan Palace, the Speakeasy Three), as well as Metric, Esthero, the Roots, the Sounds, Janelle Monae, a shit ton of oldies/Motown (the Beach Boys, the Carpenters, Marvin Gaye, the Contours, etc.) and countless other things.

Food: I've worked in kitchens off and on for a long time and am a total foodie. I'm a bit atypical about it though (as with most things), in that I don't really care for most American food, I rarely use recipes (unless it's to get a feel for a particular style, and I still modify anyway lol) and I prefer fusion and influence over traditional styles. My favorite food is sushi, and as a cook/chef I pull influences from Asian, Latin, Italian and Indian.
The six things I could never do without
A camera, a way to create art, access to what's happening in the science world, dem innanets and two other things I can't think of at the moment.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Music, ways to improve my business, food, art/design, what sort of scientist I might some day like to be, and what I can do to better myself and my life as a whole.
On a typical Friday night I am
Depends. I could be out taking in a show, chillin' with friends or by myself at home making stuff.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm a grammar nazi. I try to be pretty cool about it, but if you say "conversating", there's a strong chance I might scold you for it.

I may or may not have a crush on Anthony Bourdain. Or maybe I just want to be him when I grow up, but with boobs. I don't even know.

Were I to at some point decide marriage is for me, and actually marry someone, I'd want this guy to do the ceremony:
You should message me if
You're intelligent (seriously, I cannot stress this enough, the smarter the better), interesting, ambitious and open-minded.
You're looking for something other than casual sex.
You have something to say other than "hey sexy" (or any other equally lazy/uninteresting introductions -- that's why I took the time to write details about myself).
You're not a parent and you don't want kids. Kids aren't my bag.
You're between the ages of 21 and 40.
You live within a couple hours of me, max. I don't do long distance.
