My self-summary
I'm moving to Fargo to work towards a PhD after earning a masters degree studying a passion of mine: video games. It's slightly absurd to get such a degree, I'm aware, but I believe that sums me up rather well. I don't take many things too seriously and try to always have fun.

It shouldn't come as a shock that I'm a huge nerd, and if it does, you may be best served looking elsewhere. I'm also a smart ass, which kinda goes hand in hand with being a nerd.

If I sound like someone you'd like to get to know...drop me a message. I've had my shots and I don't bite...promise.

Also worth noting, this profile has been made from the finest Italian leather.
What I’m doing with my life
Just finished my masters degree in Communication a while back. Now I'm looking for a big kid job. Not many people can claim they've taken a passion and gone out to get a degree studying said passion; I, however, can. I've spent the last few years studying video games and movies. Go ahead, laugh, or question, or roll your eyes... I've gotten quite a few types of reactions.
I’m really good at
Food. I do food very well...
I love cooking without the help of a recipe, and it's definitely better with a friend or significant other. I'm also always up for trying a new cuisine or a tasty beer given the chance. Not sure which sounds less pretentious, but I'm either a beer snob or enthusiast, whichever you prefer to call me. Lately I've been getting more into wine and exploring those pairings...some are wicked tasty.
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably my smile. It usually looks like I'm up to some sort of mischief...but more than likely, I am.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
If you read this whole list, you deserve a cookie. I might be up for baking such a cookie if we have enough in common...and you tell me what kind you prefer.

Books: Any plays written by Shakespeare, Harold Pinter, David Mamet, The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan, Freakanomics, Suck it Wonderwoman, Bossypants, Battle Royale, The Sparrow, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series, I'm sure there are more...but that's all I got for now.

Movies: Wreck it Ralph, Nightmare Before Christmas, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Lars & the Real Girl, Anchorman, Sin City, Superhero Movies (Xmen, Thor, Iron Man, Captain America), Boondock Saints, Zombieland, V for Vendetta, Usual Suspects, Golden Compass, How to Train Your Dragon, Scott Pilgrim, again...there are lots more.

TV: Doctor Who, Leverage, Psych, Big Bang Theory, Arrested Development, Burn Notice, Community, Bones, Dexter, Dead Like Me, Futurama, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Archer

Music: Neon Trees, Collective Soul, Dropkick Murphys, Bad Religion, Miles Davis, Flogging Molly, Weezer, the Heavy, OneRepublic, Coheed & Cambria, Rise Against, Iron Maiden (we all gotta have guilty pleasures) BoB, Muse, Lucky Boys Confusion, Sara Bareilles, MC Lars, Tilly & the Wall, BB King, Clapton, Less Than Jake, Misfits

Food: I love food, except mushrooms and olives...those things are terrible. I'm always willing to try something new!
Six things I could never do without
Outside the obvious friends and family...and the number six, which is vastly important, I'd have to pick no actual order.
Food - more than just sustenance, it can be damn tasty!
Beer/wine - there aren't many better things than trying a new beer or glass of wine with someone I care about
Entertainment & Technology (nook, cell phone, video games, movies, etc) - I've made this such a huge part of my life and I wouldn't change a thing about it.
Laughter - Lots of people use lots of things to stay sane, I use laughter and humor.
My cat - I found Loki when he was 2 weeks old. I love the crazy little beastie. I'm always trying to find him less me-shaped things to chew on though.
Music - So many reasons for this one, ranging from something to keep me off the mean streets of Chagrin Falls growing up, to a study aid, to something to have in the background while cleaning or cooking.
On a typical Friday night I am
My Fridays are sometimes spent with friends going out for delicious food or staying in and cooking delicious food (usually without recipes). Lots of laughing, lots of wine or beer, a good deal of music, and maybe a board game or two...or staying in and relaxing with a book and a glass of wine.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I've been known to take running leaps into my bed when the chance arises.

I also catch myself saying absurd things, thinking about them, and shrugging them off as though they made perfect contextual sense.
You should message me if
you want to...? Or if I sound like someone you'd like getting to know over coffee or a tasty beer/glass of wine.
You can deal with me being as dense an a box of rocks sometimes. It'll happen.
