My self-summary
I'm a writer and a Texan living in New York. Yes, I have an accent.

A couple years ago, I quit a soul-crushing job to start a film distribution business with a couple of friends. While that didn't work out, it was a great experience for a couple of years.

In addition, I'm a freelance screenwriter (yes, I'm getting paid) and playwright. I'm also back in graduate school in the fall for my Master's of Education.

My five year plan includes buying and renovating a cottage in France.

I've not read every book that is on my bookshelf, but I'm interested in each of them nonetheless.

I own a couple of typewriters and a fountain pen. I don't use any of them as much as I probably should.

I have a terrible fear of vomiting.
What I’m doing with my life
Getting up the motivation to write; working to make a career in the film industry; trying to improve myself where I can, or embrace my own faults where I can't. All of this is getting easier.

I'm learning to cook. It's fun, but I'm starting off slow, mostly because I don't have someone to cook with me / to cook for.
I’m really good at
Conversation; writing; advice; forgiveness; humor; making
omelettes (though I might be out of practice).
The first things people usually notice about me
My hair; my honesty; the fact that I look like Eric Stoltz. Or Philip Seymour Hoffmann.

(Writers/Books) Charles Bukowski; Hunter Thompson; Kurt Vonnegut; Cormac McCarthy; Edward Albee; Bret Easton Ellis; Jim Thompson; Malcolm Gladwell; Anton Chekhov; Richard Dawkins; Oliver Sacks; David Markson; Harold Pinter; David Sedaris; The True Believer by Eric Hoffer; The Naked and the Dead by Norman Mailer; Max Barry; etc.

L. Burnside; Red Hot Chili Peppers; The Rolling Stones; Robert Johnson; Vampire Weekend; Andrew Bird; The Who; Joe Cocker; Hank Williams; Queen; Broadway musicals; etc.

And honestly, I'm quite taken with Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.

(Food) Things that are fried.
The six things I could never do without
My cats.
Intellectual curiosity and stimulation.
Film / Movies.
Other things, I'm sure.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My life: past, present and future; art; the world; writerly things.
On a typical Friday night I am
Staying at home more often than going out. Or trying to, anyway.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
If I'm nervous on our date I assure you I will admit everything that I should never admit on a date.
You should message me if
You wanna be my Ramona Flowers (or maybe my Marla Singer),

You find me cute; interesting; or if you just wanna chat... Or if you like my hair. I will let you touch it, you don't even have to ask,

If you want to pack a picnic and go to one of the dozens of outdoor movie events this summer,

If you want someone to share a plated subscription with,

If this experiment appeals to you:

Or you want to come up and see my etchings.
