My self-summary
My name is Ashley.
(clue one on how I can tell you actually read my profile: that's my name, not Liv_art)
I'm a performer. That right there sums me up in a nutshell.
I'm a dancer, a singer, an actress, a model, a specialty performer- and whatever else I am depending on the day!
I'm a little silly but on the day to day I'm a laid-back person who's fiercely devoted to my friends and my passions.
I'm a very passionate and outspoken person- from anything from politics, women's rights- to food and fashion. Anything is a talking point with me and I love discussions and debates.
I was born in Canada (eh?) but raised in Orange County (an Irvine girl to be exact) currently I reside in North Hollywood, with what seems like all the other aspiring dancers here in LA.

Art and culture are my life and my passion. I'm a dancer and artist first- and need people in my life who are familiar or open to that world and lifestyle. I live from gig to gig, booking to booking- I work late nights at nightclubs and music festivals and then head to rehearsals the next day. My schedule is hectic- but I love it. I have more free time than you'd think and I spend most days at home with my cat (yes I have a cat, and I love her) and friends while we decide on what restaurants to try to go to and what movies to watch.

I absolutely LOVE FOOD. Anything from five star fine dining to greasy hole in the walls. Food is something I'm very passionate about. Especially cultural food- I'm half asian and asian cuisine is very important to me (real asian cuisine. no orange chicken or sweet and sour pork here) and I need people around who are open to those foods and experiences.

I went to school for theatre and am using that training now as a working actor- I toy with the idea of going back to school for degrees in other fields- but to be honest, it won't happen for a few years if at all. If you're looking for gal with a wall full of diplomas- then I'm not her. But I am fiercely knowledgeable and intelligent- I just chose to go down a different path that didn't involve sitting in classrooms for more years than I wanted to spend :-p

I am VERY outspoken and political at times. I am known to be somewhat of a feminist and liberal. Opinions on things such as abortion, women's rights, birth control and gay marriage/rights are extremely important to me- and to be honest are not something I will ever be willing to compromise, for anyone. It's important that people understand that about me up front.

I love just having a good time and going out and having fun. Movies, dinner, dancing, museums, documentaries, music festivals, theme parks, theatre...all of it! I'll try most things once and I love adventure and traveling! I'm silly and I do silly things- I'm a kid at heart with a fiercely driven personality and need someone who can keep up with that!
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a dancer, and a performer.
My passion is musical theatre. I currently work at various regional theatres doing musicals such as Oklahoma, Spamalot, A Chorus Line and whatever else comes along!
When I'm not singing and dancing broadway style I dance at upscale nightclubs and EDM music festivals for steady cash, I also am employed as a dance for a couple theme parks here in SoCal (Disney and Universal) and am known to spend a lot of time hanging out with friends at Disney in my free time.
I'm also a model and specialty performer (I dance, I eat fire- yes really-, and anything else gigs need me for) and do a lot of speciality gigs here and there for money and fun!

I'm an artistic type- my biggest nightmare is the image of me sitting behind a desk at a 9-5 answering phones or typing up reports. My path may not be one that leads to wealth and stability- but it does lead to passion, fulfillment and fun. I have been lucky enough to have never had to hold a job that doesn't involve performing. I have never had to answer phones, fold clothes, sit at a desk and I've only waited tables once to see how it was (i quit shortly after) and I hope to keep it that way for a long time.
I’m really good at
Finding parking spots.
Finding the cutest panda photos in the interwebs.
Shopping online (i hate malls)
Playing Ubisoft JUST DANCE games (1,2,3, and 4...really, you won't beat me. I've worked as a demo dancer for them. I know it all by heart haha)
Disney trivia.
Looking at memes all day on the interwebs.
Eating asian food.
Eating fire (it's a skill)
Reading (i never leave home without my eReader)
costume designing
and anything involving looking at cute animals and going "aww"
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes- I have extremely large green eyes that people refer to as "cartoon or anime-like."
I am half asian and half caucasian so my ethnicity is a big wonder for some people. It's always fun for people to guess what I am.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
As previously discussed Asian cuisine is my true love (real asian food that is.)
Anything from taiwanese, japanese, korean, singaporean, malayasian, sushi, chinese, catonese, all of it. please. I could spend all day in Rowland Heights just eating.
I also love most all other food- I'm just a foodie and always open to trying new things.

Movie-wise, obviously I love musicals and old classics. I normally don't have time to go see new-releases in theatres so I see most movies at home. I love comedies, romantic comedies, and more. I hate horror films and gory films though. not my thing sorry!

Music, besides the obvious showtunes i LOVE edm, deep house, and dubstep. it's an odd love, but it's addictive. I admit that I love country music-and no it's not a guilty pleasure because I could never feel guilty about how awesome it is,twang it up! I am not a huge hip hop or rap fan- and could happily go without it.
Six things I could never do without
1. My friends.
2. My kitty cat
3. My ability to dance.
4. My makeup (i moonlight as a makeup artist)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My dreams and goals and how to make them become realities, and who I can share those dreams with.
The galaxies, Recipes, destiny, fate, luck, casting directors, auditions, what I'm going to eat for dinner, music, movies, girlish fantasies-

also, pandas. I love them. they're freaking adorable.
On a typical Friday night I am
Because my schedule is rather unpredictable there can be one of a few options:
i may be dancing away at a upscale hollywood nightclub until 2:30 in the morning. (for work, not fun.)

sitting at home with dinner watching movies with my roomies.

rehearsing for an upcoming show.

sleeping and recovering from said rehearsal.

or going out and trying new restaurants or bars.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm very messy.

and I'm not ashamed of it.

and it's not changing. for anyone. never has.
You should message me if
You're an artistic, creative, cultured type (or open to said things) who wants enriching experiences and adventures with someone!

if you know who Andrew Lloyd Webber, Rogers & Hammerstein are, what the Tony awards are and what Les Miserables is *really* supposed to sound like.

and most importantly if you know what dim sum, korean bbq, pho, ramen, taiwanese shaved ice, and boba are and you enjoy them & possibly would like to get some of the items mentioned above!

oh and I guess if you're someone looking for a potential friendship or relationship too (no hook-ups or hook-up buddies here please!)

*i'll give you a little hint: if you message me and clearly you haven't read by profile, use the phrase "wad up" seriously, use a copy and paste message, only say "hey, what's up wanna chat?" or ask some odd question as a first impression...there's a good chance you might want to rethink your message, cause honestly they won't get answered.
Also i really really really hate "small-talk"

***update: I'm going to be perfectly honest here (I don't like wasting other people's time when it's not necessary) per my experience: I DO take the okcupid match ratings into serious consideration. Ive noticed that for the most part on my time on this site the best experiences I have had (and one's I almost always am interested in responding to/have dialogues with and have the most in common with) have high match ratings (above 80%)
Not to deter anyone, but I wanted to throw that out there for the record. Please don't take it personally, but I would hate wasting anyone's time when there's other people they seem to be more suited for here :-)
