My self-summary
I am an easy going, happy person who loves life and people of all types. I love to laugh! I love the outdoors, but not the cold, so have spent a lot of time traveling and taking up seasonal work. Have recently lived in St. Thomas on the beach, the Outer Banks on the sound, and down in Galesville, WI on the river.

I have two grown AWESOME, free spirited sons, who I love to spend time with. We laugh a lot.

I just took a look at my personality category and 2nd on the list is more "sloppy." I don't understand where that came from! I am not a slob, promise! Also... "more arrogant?" I have never been called arrogant, FAR from it. Getting older, I think we are more self-confident, but to me, arrogance implies that you think more highly of yourself than others. I am a person who sees the good in people first. I will take it as a compliment, I guess....

I will get this out of the way......I am still a smoker, although I feel terribly guilty about it, and am seriously working on quitting, so if that's a deal breaker, then please don't message me.

What I’m doing with my life
Am in real estate appraisal, work from home, and only recently back to Minnesota, so not much of a social life yet. Exploring many interests, and realizing that I have too many interests, and life is just REALLY good.

Reading, reading, reading. Can't get enough information!
I’m really good at
Cooking just about anything, want to write. Probably making people feel safe and comfortable, as they tend to tell me their inner-most secrets.
The first things people usually notice about me
Approachable smile?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Beach Music by Pat Conroy is by far my favorite book, and I just may read it again, which I have never done. Sci-Fi, a lot of non-fiction. Dr. Seuss!!!

Movies... there are too many. All time since childhood is Mary Poppins. Coppola, Kubrick, Scorsese, Spielberg, Woody Allen, will check out anything with Liam Neeson, and love many children's animated.

Breaking Bad is the best television series I have ever seen. (but don't watch many) Never thought I'd like a show about meth dealers, but it's just so clever!

Food.... Thai, sushi, veggies, Indian, ceviche...anything fish, raw oysters. My dream job would be a traveling food critic. The only food I don't like is oatmeal, but I force myself to eat it.

Music... everything but rap, except that I took my son to M.C. Hammer many years ago and had a blast. Years later I was manipulated in to taking him to Nine Inch Nails, and it wasn't as awful as I thought it would be.....Folk and Bluegrass are big on my list. ZZ Top and Prince were my favorite concerts for the entertainment factor. Mary Chapin Carpenter has some beautiful ballads. Emmy Lou Harris is just plain cool to me. I love the harmony and the righteous rebellion of the Indigo Girls. Dolly Parton chooses awesome artists to perform with. I grew up with Hank Sr. and Johnny Cash, and later Merle Haggard. Oh and all songs from Mary Poppins!
Six things I could never do without
My family, friends, outdoors, water (river, creek, sea), computer, good food
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My boys, I want grandchildren, traveling, what I am going to cook next, which interest should I explore today, how awesome life is. How can I help? Why am I hooked on the Breaking Bad series. Everything, I think too much!
On a typical Friday night I am
Since I moved in to this apartment, and back to MN, I am usually at the pool or hanging with the neighbors.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I don't like this part of our profile, do you? Silly question.
You should message me if
You could make me laugh and if you can laugh at yourself.

Some of my friends call me Dharma. If you understand that this means I may be a bit "quirky" at times, and you still want to message me, please do!

The longer I am on this site, the more I put in my profile, as to "narrow" the field. Does that sound egotistical? You must be real!
