One of my bigest passions is the old west, no wonder I shoot 45 caliber buffalo rifles in competiton out to 1000 yards. My Great Grand fathers both homesteaded originaly in NW Nebraska. My Great Grandpa Jacob's ranch was the site of the battle of war bonnet Creek, which took place 6 weeks after the Custer battle. If your a real student of the the Indian wars you will know of this not well known battle, where as the print of the day mentions first scalp for Custer was taken. Buffalo Bill was scouting for this fight. The marker is within a few hundred yards of my GreatGP's Grave site in the family plot near Montrose Neb.
At the time of the fight my Great GP Wasserburger and my Great GP Zerbst where both in Deadwood cutting wood. Zerbst is my mothers maiden name. My great Grandpa Dick Zerbst homesteaded in Wyoming in 1881, just 20 miles from where I was raised.
Camping in the Big Horn mountains or the black hills are my fav areas.
I spend 10 days a year in the mountains of Northern New Mexico at Raton competing in the National BPCR Championships and every other year I am there for 7 more days to shoot the World championship Long Range matches.
I am a bit rough around the edges, but have a heart of gold.
MY youngest is grown and off to school.
