My self-summary
I'm just a guy trying to make his way in the world. I was born, live, and hope to one day die in Los Angeles, leaving it with just a few more photos than it had when I came in.

I am nerdy, passionate, and down to earth. jesus, did I just put that?

Let me rephrase: I am a nerd. I am passionate about photography to the point I wake up and think about photos. Middle of the day, photos. Right before I go to sleep, sex. Then, photos.

I am down to earth to the point that I have a bank account where I put money, I make regular payments on all my bills and do not think vampires are real. Astrology is a bunch of cool designs, I don't aspire to Make It in LA, and I bought my jeans because they'll last years.
What I’m doing with my life
I work as a medic on film sets, and run a photography site in my free time.
I’m really good at
I do a wicked Michael McDonald impression that is 100% guaranteed to make people laugh.

I'm actually rather good at saving people's lives. Done that a few times. Let's see, I've saved three old people, a Buddhist monk, two babies.

I have never saved anyone with my Michael McDonald impression, but I've yet to try, so I can't count that out as a possibility.
The first things people usually notice about me
Well, I had to ask a friend about this one. He said "that you were black."

So, I got that going for me.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
books: Jesus' Son, Noble House, Dune, House of Leaves, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, Homicide, Into Thin Air, The Boy Detective Fails, The Family Fang, The Isaac Quartet, Kissinger: A Biography, Annie Liebovitz: At Work, Red Dragon, Queen of the Damned, Game Change, on and on and on and on. If I'm not reading a book I like, I'm grumpy as all get out.

movies: The Princess Bride, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Seven, Zero Effect, Primer, The Long Goodbye, Punch-Drunk Love, Django Unchained...so so many. My parents took me to 2 movies a week Every week until I left for college. If anything, that habit's only gotten worse (better?)

music: The Beatles, St. Vincent, The New Pornographers, Ty Segall, Chance the Rapper, Azealia Banks, Led Zeppelin, Jay-Z, Queens of the Stone Age, Jean Grae, Stevie Wonder, Elvis Costello, David Bowie, everything my mom listened to in the 60s, everything my dad listened to in the 80s, everything that really cute girl listened to in college, I listen to music like other folks eat. Way. Too. Much.
Six things I could never do without
surf board, my camera, in this town? a car, pumpkin pie, music, my friends.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
that one time I made a mistake. and that other time, and that other other time...
On a typical Friday night I am
I don't really have a typical friday night. Sometimes I'm working, saving lives at concerts or Laker games, sometimes I'm out with my friends watching horrible movies, or laughing our way through a masochistic attempt to see which of the three Star Wars prequels is the worst.

Sometimes I'm running around doing a photo shoot, perhaps in a downtown tunnel, or on a rooftop overlooking the city, or at my friend's ranch, trying to emulate a scene from Se7en, with my dad doing the Morgan Freeman role, and my friend Amanda as Kevin Spacey.

Occasionally I'm out trying to find the best burger in the city. I've actually spent the better part of a year trying to find LA's best burger, probably because of a life-long love of burgers instilled in me by my father, who always considered McDonalds a "hearty meal".
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
One time, while sleep-walking as a child, I strutted into the kitchen and proceeded to pee in the trash.
You should message me if
You have an interest in photography, or movies, or music, anything creative, really.

And like having your photo taken.
