My self-summary
I am one that stops to admire the wind making waves in a field of tall grass; the intricacies of a thistle blossom; the elegant sliver of a new moon….quiet gratitude for the beauty in this world.

Love humor (especially a sharp wit), good food, and dancing (especially swing, especially to the blues)
Travel and experiencing the world is important to me...local, nationwide, international, cities and natural wonders. Would love to have your company in this!

I am a big fan of all the arts – especially visual art and live music of many genres.

Currently retired but am on the board of a local non profit. I have been a CPA, financial analyst, college instructor, mother, homemaker, artist, high school art/art history teacher, arts advocate, and, throughout and always, an engaged and curious student of life.

Somewhat sophisticated but definitely down to earth, gracious but occasionally feisty, quite independent, thoughtful and I try always to be kind. Educated, reasonably well read, a liberal, and an atheist.
What I’m doing with my life
Many interests, many activities:
hiking, book groups, workout class, ceramics, going to concerts, planning (and going on) travel adventures (London and Morocco in December 2016), creative cooking, wine tasting, volunteer work for local homeless, arts organizations, and a non-profit board member.

Enjoy taking dance lessons to further my swing moves. And recently have started learning to play bridge - I like the mental challenge.

The Central Coast is lovely but I realize there are many other interesting and wonderful places to live. I am in a position of having a lot of flexibility and choices and have been considering uprooting myself to explore a new environ. I am from the Pacific Northwest and now am seriously considering a move back to that area.
I’m really good at
Analyzing spacial relationships - I always nail the right size plastic container for leftovers.
The first things people usually notice about me
Not sure... my eyes I believe...or maybe it is just my glasses.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I read a great deal and many books that have had a big impact on me - too many to list - I love good writing.
Generally gravitate toward independent films, art films, foreign films, and documentaries. Two all time favorites that always come to mind are "To Kill a Mockingbird" and "Annie Hall"
TV ... don't watch much. Sometimes old movies.
Music - I love to listen to live performances - blues, jazz, classical, indie folk and many other genres. Recently learned of a young jazz singer, Cecile McLoren Salvant. Well worth checking out! She is a powerful, expressive vocalist.
NPR, TED talks, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver
Food... I love to cook, maintain a reasonably healthy diet and care about where my food comes from. But my focus is on experimentation, discovery, pleasure, food adventures.
The six things I could never do without
Never do without? Not sure besides basic survival needs. But these things are important to me on some level listed in the order they come to mind... which is to say random:
coffee, wit, something good to read, creative expression, fresh air, my two amazing, smart, and thoughtful daughters, sharp kitchen knives, intimacy with a man and sensual pleasure in a love relationship, a plan for moving forward in life, music, learning something new, finding humor in life's circumstances, the Internet, my own strength and tenacity....
I spend a lot of time thinking about
almost daily: Where did I leave my cell phone.

Living a good life and where I should live during my next life chapter.

My next travel destination. Will I have a travel partner? ...or will I be on my own.

Whatever art piece I am working on and ideas for the next one.
On a typical Friday night I am
Friday is not much different than any other night.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I will admit that I am a private person. But getting to know me is not difficult.
You should message me if
I am very attracted to someone with an active curiosity about the world. A well-honed yet spontaneous sense of humor (a sure indicator of intelligence) would be fully appreciated. Someone who enjoys the arts and culture, perhaps is interested in travel and who energetically finds enjoyment in life. Looking for someone to admire the moon with me, who has a bit of worldly experience yet is easy to talk to, easy to be with.

I am happy and fulfilled in many ways. However, I do miss what a loving relationship can add. Maybe you are the one! If you find me interesting; if you like intelligent and slightly feisty women, let me know. However, you must have photos to get my reply.
