My self-summary
On the border between Delightfully Quirky and Unsociably Weird, wondering where it all went wrong.

Will do tricks for Mr.Kipling's bakewell slices
What I’m doing with my life
Have begun the long slog towards self employment.

Update: am now working self employed as a property photographer. Neat.
I’m really good at
Taking it one day at a time, because thats how causality works. Honestly, how else are you supposed to take it?
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes probably, they're large and dark. They can look crazy happy or crazy depressed, but they always look crazy.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I read a lot of historical novels but I'm a massive fan of Terry Pratchett's stuff too. My favourite book is Nightwatch.

My most favouritest movie is KickAss, but everyone I've asked seems to hate it (sadface). Kickass2 was pretty good too.

Honestly, I don't watch much tele, but I make time for one or two shows. Dr Who, GoT are the obvious ones, but there are others too. Anime sometimes as well, though only one or two. Too many animes/mangas have predictable characters or plotlines, its starting to get on my nerves.

(whats that? the lead character is a male who is shorter than average with black hair and glasses and has somehow wound up surrounded by a number of attractive, skantily clad women with magical/sciencey powers who are all in love with him apart from the one who he is in love with who he met as a child and has been looking for ever since but she doesn't remember him? Quelle surprise)

All of the Music. Tend to prefer music with instruments in it though.
Vampire Weekend are a big Yes (recent album is fantastic).
Got Daft Punk's new album at the same time. Loved their older stuff, but tbh, I listened to it once and haven't had it out the case since.
The other way round with Kasabian, I fucking adore their first album (still listen to bits of it occasionally, which is pretty impressive after ten years), but everything I heard that came afterwards felt a bit bland.

I was recently introduced (for the second time apparently) to Post Modern Jukebox, who do most of their stuff in some guy's living room and put it on youtube. You should check them out, they're fantastic.

I was into the Unthanks for a while, I'm getting into them again. They're a sort of bleak folk group headed by two sisters from Ryton. A lot of their songs are about children dying, men dying while they're working, women working in horrific conditions, starvation, press gangs and lost love, and more dead children, all set to piano and violins. Its seriously metal. I mean, thats what I'd say if I knew what metal really is. I don't. Why not educate me?
Six things I could never do without
Music! Music is the whistful sigh of civilisation.
No, I don't know what that means either, but it sounds impressive.

Friends! Its nice to have someone who laughs with me instead of just at me.

Non-specific plants and naturey things! They give us oxygen and are nice to be around. Walking through them is nice.

Animals! Because sometimes you're better off talking to the cat/dog/bouncer.

Trousers! I'd be cold/arrested otherwise.

Numbers! Without numbers, I'd have no idea that this was the sixth thing on the list, and its fun to have a nemisis. *Shakes fist menacingly at Math*
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How I could make the world a better place for everyone, while expending the least amount of effort possible.

How I could make the world a better place for me, while expending the least amount of effort possible.

The current best answer seems to be; starting a religion that doesn't subscribe to any particular god, but has a good moral code and encourages people to go to the gym a lot.

Honestly, its all I've got. Anyone got any better ideas?
On a typical Friday night I am
On the lookout for something interesting to do and someone to do it with.

Or someone to do and something interesting to do them with.

I forget which.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
The most private thing I'm willing to admit on the internet?

The sound of stone on stone or stone on metal drives me up the wall. Eeurgh.
