My self-summary
Hello, I’m Mac.

I’m just your everyday average guy who was home schooled all throughout elementary and high school and grew up on a twenty-acre farm with 400 sheep. On second thought, I don’t think that is at all average… In fact, I am pretty sure that I am a pretty unique person with many outstanding qualities. Therefore, my goal on this site is to find another unique person with some outstanding qualities!

So, some info about me.. Firstly, at this point in life, I am going to school full-time and working part-time. Therefore, I am a busy and active person. If I'm not doing schoolwork or working, I'm hiking, backpacking, camping, working out, playing basketball, rock climbing, or whatever else I get myself into, I'll find ways to keep myself busy. Despite my active lifestyle, I also have an inner geeky side. For example, I'll enjoy a relaxing night in watching fantasy and science fiction movies, reading a good book, and/or play some video games.

As I said above, I am very active. For example, I love rock-climbing and repelling off of cliffs, geo-caching, backpacking (and I plan to hike the PCT some day), and camping in the middle of nowhere. I am also very competitive and love playing all kinds of games and sports. As much as I enjoy playing sports, I really dislike watching them and I do not fallow any teams whatsoever. The reason being, I get bored with watching sports on TV very quickly and would much rather go out and play them or do something fun and productive. The only exception to this would be actually going to a sports game in person, or watching the super-bowel at a super-bowel party. I am okay with these because of the social aspect, and maybe because of the food and beer. lol

I love and adore the outdoors and animals. I grew up on a 20-acre farm with a creek, a pond, 2 barns, trees, fields, and even a swamp. Moreover, I had 400 sheep, 6 cats, 4 dogs, parakeets, finches, lizards, turtles, frogs, and snakes. Therefore, I spent much of my childhood with nature of all kinds and sizes. As an adult, I find myself missing these natural aspects in my life more and more now that I am going to college full-time and working part-time. So, I try my best to fill my down time with nature whenever I can.

I love art of any kind! Whether it is music, drawings, paintings, sculptures, photography, dancing, or theater. When I was 10 years old, I was accepted into an art school for my pencil art. However, due to an injury with a wood router and my thumb, I had to drift away from drawing and never ended up going to school for it... Shortly after this injury, I took on a new art form and began playing the guitar. At this point I fell in love with music and am still actively playing guitar, bass, a small amount of piano, and even singing (or try to at least).

I love traveling, exploring, and being adventurous! It does not matter whether it is a short day trip within the same state or a long trip out of the country, I will do it and love it! My all-time favorite trips are the random ones! My top three trips that I will do the most within a given year are camping, coastal adventures, and even inner city explorations. I also plan to do some major traveling once I am done with school, such as driving across the U.S., backpack in Europe, bush-whack the outback, explore New Zealand, check out lemurs in Madagascar, drink beers in Ireland, look at ruins in Rome, and hike the PCT. Some places that I have already been to are Mexico, Kauai, Germany, Switzerland, and Prague.

I try to live my life as healthy as a can. I made many poor choices as a child regarding food and fitness and ended up weighing 200 lbs at the age of 10. I had gotten to the point of gaining 10 lbs a month. Therefore, I made a life change as a child to fix what I had done and to never let it happen again. It was a long road to find my healthy self again and I am still having walk the path. I believe it is important to take care of oneself, but there must be moderation. I am not a health freak, I just do my best to eat good foods and stay active.

I have a complex personality, not in a bipolar or crazy kind of way, but in a very diverse, self-aware, and fun kind of way. I have aspects of a hippie as I love nature and would love off the land if given the opportunity; I have aspects of a geek as I love my gadgets for video games, music, and computers; and I have aspects of a jock as I am competitive and love to play sports games.
Now as far as specific personality traits: My personality type is classified as ENTP, but that only means so much.. I am a very driven person when it comes down to it. I am very professional and take whatever it is I do seriously, whether it be school, work, or life. I am also a perfectionist and therefore I often do very well with academics and have progressed quickly in every job I have had. With all of this being said, I am also a major procrastinator, but I always manage to get my shit done. Moreover, I am a realest and optimist. I am a very easy going and patient person, I do not get annoyed, frustrated, mad, or lose my cool, even under very stressful times. I try to always be considerate and kind to anyone around me. However, I can be a sarcastic smart-ass at given moments, but these moments are always meant in light and playful way. I am and have always been a very independent person. I began cooking for myself and my family at the age of 9 along with beginning to work as a landscaper for $5 an hour. Additionally, I am a hard-core child at heart and will often be very goofy, silly, and playful in almost any setting. I am often quiet when people first meet me (as are most people), but I can also get excited very quickly and therefore get loud very quickly (always a happy and/or enthusiastic kind of loud). I can be very reserved or I can be extremely outgoing depending on my mood and the setting. I can be very precise with my actions or I can be very random and spontaneous. I am extremely strong willed when it comes down to my core values and feelings, but I will always be very open minded and respectful.
I feel like I just rambled on a bit more then I should have about my personality... However, I am going to leave it in because I feel that understanding and relating to someones personality is crucial in any kind of relationship, whether it be friendship or more.

Now as far as to why I am on this site. I want woman who can be my best friend, who I can banter and debate with (and not get upset), who is down to earth (and not afraid to get some earth on them), who is as fluent in sarcasm as I am, who has the confidence to lead when they see the need but also know when to step back and let others lead, and someone who can be random, silly, and goofy. I cannot stress enough how much I love random, unexpected, and spontaneous things. The unexpected things add flair and spice to ones life and to the mundane schedule that people make for themselves. Therefore, I want someone who is like minded and will show up at my door unannounced and say "let's go do something!", someone that is willing to go for a drive for no good reason and no real destination, who will start singing loudly in the car, who I can embarrass in public and then have them do the same to me, who will sit in a closet and wait to scare me, and someone who I can have a food fight with. All of these things are things that I do and would like to have someone else do back. As I mentioned above, I am looking for my best friend and ultimately I am looking for my other half. I may be asking for too much… But I hope that I'm not. I will add, although my "ultimate" goal to to find something long-term, I am not opposed to having fun along the way, in fact, I'll embrace it! Please do not take this as me saying I am a man slut, because I am not. I am simply saying that I don't like to rush into long-term relationships, that I like to have fun, and that I like to get to know the person first. If things don't work out, at least we can say it was fun!

Well, at this point I have rambled and explained myself way more then enough.. Anyone reading this (if you even made it this far) is most likely thinking I talk too much, which is not often the case with me. I just feel that the more you can know about me now will help the both of us figure out if it is a good match or not. Plus, as an award for making it through, and if we hit it off, I'll treat you to coffee =D Anyways, if you want to know more about me, just shoot me a message. =)
What I’m doing with my life
Right now, I am going to college full-time trying to piece together a strong educational and finacial base for the life I want to live.
I’m really good at
Being the person I want to be.
Thinking outside the box.
Imagining random ideas and situations.

I am also very good with my hands (no pun intended). My major skills in this area would be with woodworking, arts & crafts, cooking, and playing the guitar.

Additionally, photography is more of a hobby of mine, but I feel that I'm pretty good. There are some photos of mine below on Instagram.
The first things people usually notice about me
People often notice that I'm not like many others you would meet and/or that I am very friendly and courteous.

However, it seems that a lot of people have different impressions of me when they first meet me. So you tell me!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I'm a geek when it comes to books. I love Harry Potter, The Chronicles of Narnia, And even Encyclopedias, lol

Movies: I'll like just about any movie as long as it was played out well (writing, acting, story, etc..). For instance, I love the work of Quentin Tarantino, Christopher Nolan, Stanley Kubrick, and Peter Jackson.
But I tend to enjoy action, comedy, and horror ( zombies are always good in movies ^_^ ). Oh, and I on occasion will enjoy some cheesy B movies.

TV Shows: I honestly have not watched much TV in the past six years.. I used to love it, and watch it All the time. Then I just stopped watching it one day, and I didn't care. But now and then I'll get on hulu or netflix and look up a show I like or liked such as the X files, 11.22.63, Nova, Doctor Who... Just to name a few.

Music: I love music! Have I mentioned that I love music yet? lol.
I listen to a lot of different genres. If you were to ask me to pick a favorite artist or song, I'd tell you that I cannot pick just one. I love way too many artists and songs for their own unique reasons. However, I will say that I find myself being very selective when it comes to the genres of country, modern hiphop and rap, and classical. Most modern country is boring and repetitive in my opinion, most modern hiphop and rap simply has good beats but shitty lyrical writing and singing, and I need to be in the right mood for classical.

Here is a list of some bands I listen to on a regular basis. It is mostly rock, alternative, and indie. However, I have some folk, country, metal, screamo, blues, oldies, and classic rock.

Against Me!, The Airborne Toxic Event, Alice In Chains, Arctic Monkeys, Beck, The Black Keys, The Bravery, Breaking Benjamin, Broken Bells, Cage The Elephant, Chevelle, Cold War Kids, Coldplay, Collective Soul, Crash Kings, Death Cab For Cutie, Five For Fighting, Foo Fighters, Foster The People, Franz Ferdinand, The Frey, Genesis, Glen Hansard, Gnarls Barkley, The Goo Goo Dolls, Gorillaz, Incubus, Jack Johnson, JET, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Eat Wolrd, John Mayer, The Killers, Kings Of Leon, Led Zeppelin, Linkin Park, Live, Metronomy, Modest Mouse, Mumford & Sons, Muse, Nine Inch Nails, Nirvana, Oasis, The Offspring, OneRepublic, Paramore, Pearl Jam, Puddle of Mudd, Queens Of The Stone Age, The Raconteurs, Rage Against The Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rock Kills Kid, Seether, Shinedown, Sick Puppies, Silversun Pickups, Smashing Pumpkins, Soundgarden, Three Days Grace, Tom Petty, Tool, Train, The Van Jets, Velvet Revolver, The Wallflowers, Weezer, The White Stripes, Wolfmother, Young the Giant, 10 years.

P.s. No, I did type out all these bands just to prove a point. I had already typed out this list out for a band profile I had made a while back. Therefore, I just copied and pasted it.

Food: Being that I was an over weight child, I love food! I love cooking it, eating it, and trying anything new. Im not that picky, I'll eat anything. The only exception to this is that I really do not like raw tomatoes!
On a daily basis, I try to eat as healthy as I can, so I cook at home a lot. I cook most of my food from scratch as I find enjoyment in making food by hand, and it is often better for you. I often will cook chicken, steak, pasta, veggies, and prepare salads on the side. However, when I do go out to eat, my top choices would be Sushi, Mexican, Chinese, and Italian ^_^
The six things I could never do without
We humans can always adapt to any situation. So, saying I can never live without something is being quite closed minded.
But, there are some things that I love more then others. These would be (in no particular order) friends, music, my car, the outdoors, good food or trying something new to eat, and a good craft beer ^_^
I spend a lot of time thinking about
A lot of different and random things..
I'll often daydream about very random hypothetical situations about the past, present, and future.
On a typical Friday night I am
I don't really have a typical Friday night...
I'll do anything as long as it is fun, exciting, and with good people. Such things can include playing board games, card games, video games, or even recreational games. Or, going out for a movie, show, concert, drinks, or food. I'm not too picky, I'll make the best out of anything =)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
In all honesty, I am a very open book, so feel free to ask me anything =)
You should message me if
You feel as though are personalities and interests are simular, you would like to get to know me better, and if you are an awesome person with a good amount of common sense.
I also like conversations to have some meaning and weight to them. In other words, please refrain from sending me a message with less then three words.
