My self-summary
First off, I'm a geek and proud of it. I'm a fun-loving kind of guy that enjoys hanging out with friends. I immensely enjoy deep, thoughtful conversation flavored with sharp wit and a cheeky sense of humor. My passions include reading science-fiction/fantasy, a good glass of bourbon, although I drink rarely, and my job, that's being a teacher.

I'm not tall or athletic. I'm average and solid. I'm comfortable with that.

I don't think chivalry is dead, just in hiding from fire-breathing women. I get looked at funny when I offer my jacket to women that are cold.

I'm an eclectic learner. There are few avenues of knowledge that I won't possess some interest in learning at least a little about. Nothing in life is trivial.

I'm not waiting for a woman to live my life. I'm out there doing the things I enjoy and if a woman thinks she can add to that all the better.

I am loyal, witty, and goofy.

Btw, vegetarians need not apply. I am strongly carnivorous. If you are a vegetarian I will consider you as possible prey to be cooked medium rare as all herbivorous creature should be.
What I’m doing with my life
I've been teaching high school science for the past 6 years and I don't see myself stopping for a while. Hate to say it but I like these kids. Yes, even the ones I sometimes want to strangle. I've got notes and ideas to compile into a novel. I like creating things be they artwork, functional, or strange. The time in between all of this I plan on driving around California and exploring the Golden soon as gas prices drop or when there's an alternative energy car. I plan on picking up again on my ballroom dance lessons as soon as I buy my condo. I like dabbling in different things and have picked up ballroom dance and going to the gun range. My favorite styles are tango and swing. I find dancing a lot of fun and a lot easier to find a partner for that than someone to practice martial arts with, a former past time of mine. I also am aquarist (I keep fish). I find planning and building aquascapes very relaxing.

Brooding but not in a dark way. I like to just sit and ponder things and defrag my mind. I'm not surly, just pensive. I'm not antisocial and do enjoy going out and being mildly zany. My work environment is boisterous already and so I don't actively seek noisier places.

A little personal philosophy. I see myself as in transition to my ultimate self. My ultimate self will exist only while doing something to move myself forward towards being my ultimate self. Circular logic? Yes. But philosophy can be like that. I'm happy where I'm at because I know I'm moving towards where I can be happier. Not tooting my own horn. No bullshit. I'm happy and getting happier. A woman thinks she can join me and be happy making us both happier with effort and time, I will welcome and reward her.
I’m really good at
Well, according to my supervisors I'm really good at teaching. I'm also good at witty retorts. Outside of work I have a knack for writing, drawing, and singing. I rock in the shower! I'm also finding myself very good at tinkering. I like dismantling things, seeing how they work, and then seeing what I can do to make it better or just cooler in general.
The first things people usually notice about me
The first thing people notice about me is that I have a loud, friendly personality. I have a commanding presence when I get comfortable but I'm not bossy. People often describe me as goofy or dorky. I'm a smartass; but better to be a smartass than a dumbass. I've been told I have comically expressive eyebrows?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
(A) The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind (B) Topgun - watched this over 30 times and have practically memorized it blind. (C) Metallica, Two Steps from Hell, Beethoven, Mozart, Tchaikovsky (D) Wine & bourbon-although I drink sparingly, steak & gourmet cheese
The six things I could never do without
My laptop, my friends, my grip on sanity, and my job as a teacher (this pays for basic living amenities although sometimes takes away from my sanity) Also tools and construction materials for... anything. I just feel the need to create every so often. And...books. Lots and lots of books.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Humanity, tranquility, and computers. Finding places to dance is something I'm working on, too. Zombie preparation. How to be a better teacher. Puzzles of the non-cardboard variety. My book.
On a typical Friday night I am
I usually hang out with my friends on Friday night or I am reading a book while listening to music. Lately I've been working out at home while watching TV. Plotting how to sow my students in the upper echelons of society to be in a prime position to take over the world. Preparing for the Zombiepocalypse. We all know it's gonna happen...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Occasionally message women on OKC that don't match my %. Do the same thing every time and expect the same results. I may be pleasantly surprised by the results.
You should message me if
If you're someone who enjoys using her brain.
