My self-summary
I've been living in Spain for the last year - bliss! I'm a committed European. If you voted 'Leave' just pass on to the next profile. We won't last 10 minutes. I'm now back in London and having to resume work. Hmm...

There are some great profiles on here and I'm enjoying reading them. Judging by what you ladies say, your quality is not in general being matched by the male of the species. Maybe I'm no different? (You can read into that the kind of self-conscious, postmodern irony which seems to be de rigeur on these kinds of self-summaries.)

I'm perfectly sane and I regard myself as normal. Which of course could mean that I'm anything but sane and entirely on my own planet. That's for you to find out.

I enjoy making people laugh, but I also recognise that I sometimes use humour to deflect. (No, I'm not in therapy, just self aware). I'm intelligent and caring, but also have a wicked party-animal streak which I try and keep under control, but which surfaces every so often. Then we're all in trouble.

I have oodles of curiosity and I get bored if I don't have something to do or think about. I'm hopeless at being a couch potato, in fact I don't even make a good couch crisp. But I'm happy to stay on the couch if there's somebody to keep me there...
What I’m doing with my life
Relishing it, filling it, living it to the full, and every so often screwing it up just a tiny bit.
I’m really good at
Plenty of practical things (plumbing, navigating with maps, that kind of stuff) but I'm an arts/culture person overall. I watch a lot of films, read plenty of books, and also exercise frequently. I also touch-type at terrifying speed, although I did graduate from the Winnie-the-Pooh academy of spelling, unfortunately.
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes, and the fact that I'm smiling
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I can't even begin to list these. As an ex-pro musician I cannot live without music (classical, jazz, rock, pop). I tend towards indie films rather than the blockbusters, but I watch plenty of the latter as well. I write books as well as read them...where on earth would I start? And what will we talk about if I list it all here?
The six things I could never do without
Sunshine, Air, Water, Warmth, Food, Sex. Not in that order. Being without anything else I can adapt to. I'm easy going to the point of it being a fault.

Or:

Films
Travel
Music (in general, but especially classical)
Exercise
Laughter
My curiosity
I spend a lot of time thinking about
That small house somewhere in the Mediterranean that I will eventually have as a little bolt hole.
On a typical Friday night I am
Probably at the cinema. Maybe in a bar, laughing. Sometimes just sat at home slightly dazed, wondering how on earth the week went so fast.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
That I'm not very good at admitting private things in public. But I'll fess up to them in private. Let's get to that stage and we'll deal with it then.
You should message me if
You don't mind the fact that there are no car chases in Richard Linklater films.

You love the piano second half of Layla as much as you like the guitar-driven first half.

You enjoy laughing so much you can hardly breathe.

You may be interested in meeting for a date and hoping it goes further. Or you'd like to exchange some witty bon mots and just see where that goes.

Or you've read my profile and think you ought to get in touch purely for humanitarian reasons
