My self-summary
I'm curious about human nature on all kinds of levels: social, economic, spiritual, sexual, group orientation, whatever. I admire simplicity, but am attracted to complexity. I admire competence and completion, but wander from project to project. I have sure, gentle hands and give good back, neck, and foot rubs. I like going new places, especially high places with lots of sun and wind. I prefer relaxed restaurants with really good food over highly decorated restaurants with indifferent food. I like openness to ideas and activities. I believe in honesty, trust, and support. I like experimenting, be it in food, sex, movies, or destinations.

I am intellectual, honest, and considerate
What I’m doing with my life
Connecting with old friends and making new ones, taking and planning some trips, eating out a lot, and generally finding new and better ways to live life. Also, working, obviously.
More recently, I've taken up meditation, gotten back into running, and am working on my creative writing.
I’m really good at
Writing, conversation, backrubs, listening, reading, watching movies (not much skill involved there, I admit).
The first things people usually notice about me
These days, I guess my beard. When I shave it off, then I'm not sure. (I shave it off for scuba diving. Makes my mask leak.)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Letters to a Young Poet, The User Illusion, The Chronicles of Amber, What I Talk About When I Talk About Running, Stephen King's On Writing...the list varies with what I'm reading.
Movies: My Favourite Year, Star Wars, In the Heat of the Night, Bull Durham, The Zero Effect, Stripes, Master and Commander
Music: bluesy rock and roll (Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones), Guided By Voices, Fleetwood Mac, Sisters of Mercy, Green Day, Blink 182, Garbage, Bob Dylan, The Band, Bob Segar, U2, Metric, Phantogram, The Stone Roses, Miles Davis on Prestige, dance music I can't identify, The Who
Foods: Chicken enchiladas, Thai food
Six things I could never do without
sleeping in, staying up late, time to let my brain goof off, books, friends
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How people with opposite points of view might be able to find something in common and communicate.
On a typical Friday night I am
I like to relax at home on Friday nights, though I'm sometimes out with friends. I'm more likely to be social weeknights and Saturdays.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm not a virgin.
You should message me if
you like good writing, you think laps make the best pillows, you like stopping for a cup of coffee while exploring a city, you like cities and the wilderness
