My self-summary
Hi! I'm Mark.
I'm a graphic designer and proud geek! (Dork?)
Optimistic, positive, glass-half-full kind of person; always up for trying new things; new adventures wherever I might find them.

Let's go to concerts! Drink-n-draws! Symphonies! Let's go to movies at The Royal & TIFF! And conventions and punk shows at dive bars! Let's get pizza and wander the city!

If you know the internal temperature of a Tauntaun, can speak in fluent Simpsons quotes, and/or have strong opinions on who would win between a major pair of super heroes, we will get along swimmingly. :)
What I’m doing with my life
Being professionally creative.

Making comics, going to live shows, events and conventions, competing in Air Guitar competitions; exploring the city, finding new restaurants, gaming with friends on a regular basis, drunk baking with others. There aren't many days in my calendar I'm not doing something.

Staying active, fit and healthy; trying to eat well. I run every day and swim, hike, camp and play softball in the summer.
I’m really good at
- Drawing, painting, sketching, doodling (general ideation); design.
- Not getting sarcasm on your first try.
- Relating everything back to a movie or Simpson's quote / reference.
- Cooking, surprisingly.
- Getting lost at least once on road trips (which, I believe, is half the fun)
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm fairly tall.
I sing when I'm in a good mood and dance (poorly).
I'm passionate about the things I love.
My closest friends are like my second family.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Graphic novels & comics: Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, Vertigo - it's all good!; Jane Eyre, Pride & Prejudice, Great Expectations, The Catcher in the Rye, Clockwork Orange, 1984; A Year in Provence by Peter Mayle; The Halloween Tree by Ray Bradbury; Vinyl Cafe stories by Stuart Mclean

I'll watch just about anything once but my favourite genres are generally horror, sci-fi, action (mainly Marvel & DC...) and drama.

Current favourites include: Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Rick & Morty, Peaky Blinders, Vikings, The Walking Dead and Sherlock.
Classic favourites include: Star Trek DS9, Firefly, The X-Files, 80s & 90s cartoons. I'm pleased to say that I have finally become more invested in Dr. Who.

Rock, Metal, Nercore, Rap & HipHop, Classical, Musicals, Dubstep & EDM... Pretty much anything but country and generic radio hip-hop.
The six things I could never do without
- Art supplies
- Glasses
- Good music
- Great food
- Wonderful friends
- New adventures
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What's happening this week!?
Future vacations.
On a typical Friday night I am
There is no typical. I take each week as it comes but, generally, I'm up for anything! It could be the symphony, a drink & draw, a concert, a flick, or just home making art and binging on Netflix.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm kind of a sucker for Disney and musicals. And Disney musicals.
You should message me if
- You like a bunch of wonderfully geeky stuff too.
- You're not a smoker (of anything).
- You're looking for someone to share in adventures and curl up with. :)
