My self-summary
I appreciate simplicity and honesty, mixed with elaborate story-telling and aching belly laughs. I have wonderful people in my life whom I am certain I will know through to old age. We're all spread out in different cities, which is a bummer to not get to see them regularly. There are choices, fears, obstacles, adventures that sometimes distract me from remembering what matters most to me. Which is a pretty common theme in life, as can be found in books, movies, music, the arts etc. And maybe we'll connect on some of those.
What I’m doing with my life
Living life as true to myself as I can. Which means what, exactly...
...I've learned I prefer quiet gatherings more often than large parties. I get great joy from sharing seriously goofy moments with people. In those moments, people are open and not self-conscious. I moved recently after living in Brooklyn for 13 years. Adjusting and getting to re-know the city I grew up in.
I’m really good at
Creating a space.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
books: many I don't recall the titles of, chekhov, dostoyevsky, shakespeare, the mysteries of sherlock holmes, any book with edward gorey illustrations, books about human behavior and psychological development, anything a friend recommends...
movies: a mix of cheese and class-- delicatessen, the thin man, the long goodbye, dead men don't wear plaid, nightmare before christmas, bill murray in anything, ferris bueller's day off, flashdance, cary grant in everything
tv: "sherlock" series- waiting for the next season.
music: recently enjoying exploring 60's and 70's era bands I'm not familiar with, bright black morning light, ariel pink, satie, the bee gees, tortoise, yo la tengo, timber timbre, new order, a little dash of bruno mars and a couple other pop musicians friends encourage me to try, journey, pavement, heart...
food: indian, thai, soups, burgers, gravy, pretty much all foods
Six things I could never do without
My glasses, pens and paper, toothpaste, laughter, and those really good songs that just make everything amazing.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I think about the best way to relax on the weekend. I think about fabric combinations and color schemes that would go well together, a fun hobby of envisioning rooms.
On a typical Friday night I am

You appreciate quick wit and laughter, and have some you can't help but add to the world. You have the capacity to love. You enjoy both social and solo events. You have a sense of your own sex appeal. You looked at my profile and thought, "I want to go bowling with her."
