I pretend to be pretty relaxed and to go with the flow, but let's be honest, on the big stuff, we all like to get our way from time to time. I hate stress and try to avoid it as much as I can. So while aggressive standoffish flirting may be fun, if you like constant drama and battles then I'm not that guy. When it is time to work and be serious, I work very very hard and am very very serious. I value long term friendships and keep a select handful of very close friends -- many of them for several decades at a time. I believe in loyalty and trust and all sorts of good-natured stand-up things like that. I like adventures and fun, but learned to limit the bad decisions so I'm not paying the price later. I have always been a fiscally responsible, hard working type.
I have driven cross-country multiple times and plan on doing so again. Someday I'd like to play a round of frisbee golf in all 50 states. Work has brought me to Indonesia, Japan and China, and might do so again... Hopefully it will someday bring me to Europe.
I find it fun to look at schools and dream about all the careers I passed up and all the ones I still might pursue.
Currently I'm trying to figure out if I need to learn Indonesian for work and just how often I'll be traveling there.
Some of my favorite films: Casablanca, Citizen Kane, The Shawshank Redemption, Fight Club, It's a Wonderful Life, The Matrix Part 1 (Parts 2, 3 do not exist), Blues Brothers, North by Northwest, Boogie Nights, Glory, Memento, Moulin Rouge, Mulholland Drive, Magnolia.
Mr. Robot is currently the best show on television. Game of Thrones, Better Call Saul, Silicon Valley, Veep, and American Ninja Warrior are all pretty good too. I like to flip between The History Channel, ESPN, and MSNBC -- I can do that for hours on end. Some shows I enjoyed in the past: Sports Night, Parenthood, Arrested Development, Scrubs, Twin Peaks, Lost, The Shield, The Office, Colbert Report, 30 Rock, Flight of the Conchords, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
Nonfiction and History are good thing. So are novels by Elmore Leonard, Stephen King, Harry Turtledove, and Chuck Palahniuk.
I enjoy music. Especially if it's something I can dance or sing along to. Swing, Rock, Ska, Show tunes. Cake, Sinatra, Elvis, Johnny Cash, and The Beatles. I grew up in a household where we all learned more than one instrument (mine were piano and alto saxophone) and we were all also in choir. I have a long long love/hate history with karaoke.
I write in lots of notebooks.
We probably should all list food oxygen, water and sunlight. Those seem pretty important.
