My self-summary
New to Eugene, but I'm pretty familiar with the town. However, I wouldn't mind meeting some new people to show me around and do cool stuff with. Adventures or misadventures, I'm open to both. Also, a running buddy might be cool and I'm close to having a working road bike, so once that happens I'll be down to do some biking.
What I’m doing with my life
Working at a winery and in a vineyard. I'm giving grapes a higher, more noble, purpose in their lives. I'm also currently trying to round up as many bean bag chairs as possible. I have found 4 from friends in the past two months. Eventually I want a room that is only bean chairs... and coffee tables. Update: I did the bean bag living room and it wasn't nearly as cool as I thought it would be. Maybe I did it wrong. I think after a month and a half of going 5 days I week I can now officially say I'm pretty into Bikrims Yoga. I'm going to try to see if I can keep this up for 5 or 6 months and then go from there.

Update. After months of attending they kept wanting me to pay to go to yoga. So I stopped... going and paying. So you know, Bikrims yoga is super expensive. Meanwhile, it turns out that running is kind of fun and super cheap. So I've been doing that a lot and I even ran the Corvallis half marathon.
I’m really good at
forgetting things. can you be good at that? or is it, I'm bad at remembering things? I guess the best way to say it is that I am really good at remembering to write lists so that I don't forget things. Basically if we meet you will immediately think Guy Pearce from Memento. That is, I've been known to write lists on my hand, I don't actually look like Guy Pearce.
Oh I'm really good at road trips... driver AND passenger style. I'm pretty decent at making a Manhattan and a Negroni, also I've been known to make my own grenadine for New Yorkers. Oh, and I'm working on sorting out the Hemingway Daiquiri. If I can make a decent one soon, my bartending skills will officially level up. Using chopsticks (or so I'm told). Living in a cold apartment. Telling stories to little kids (basically I'm good at making stuff up).
The first things people usually notice about me
my hair. it can get a little wild, but I'm trying to grow it out, which is having the unexpected effect of taming it. Oh, older ladies usually point out that I have long eyelashes. So, there is that.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I guess I'm a foodie? side note... I really don't like the term foodie. Love to cook and go out to eat. Scallops are one of my all time favs, but there isn't much food I don't like. Started cooking with my Tagine after a year of looking at. I'd like to start cooking sous-vide, but I don't have the proper equipment. Maybe a winter project.

I read Jonathon Strange and Mr. Norrel a few years back and still think about that book. I typically read a lot of Science Fiction, Fantasy, cook books, and whatever a friend recommends.

Movies... Too many to count. I used to have to fall asleep to a movie and as a result I have seen David Lynch's Dune about a 1,000 times. I don't understand why more people didn't see Scott Pilgrim vs the world.

TV? I don't own one. but I'm not against it. The Wire, Party Down, Mad Men, Bored to Death, Always Sunny, Fringe, Firefly, Dollhouse, Community, Walking Dead, Archer, Game of Thrones, True Detective and Breaking Bad.

Music... I listen to a lot of Pandora. Lets see... Jamiroqui, Joy Division, Daft Punk, Cut Copy, Pretty Lights, The Rapture, Disclosure, Tribe Called Quest, Deltron, Wax Tailor, The hundred in the hands, Wham!. I think when I was much younger I listened to a lot of Punk and Ska, but for a long time I've preferred House music and a lot of its various subgenres. I really like this song:
Six things I could never do without
food (all of it, but I've been making a lot of risotto lately).

wine (Pinot Noir and Riesling are my favorites, well... and a great Chateauneuf, but who can afford it).

coffee (black).

driving around (I read On the Road and it changed driving for me forever).

music (all of it).

laptop (come on, MacBook!).
I spend a lot of time thinking about
stuff and things
On a typical Friday night I am
out with a friend or two for dinner or meeting up for a drink.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm more of a cat guy and less of a dog guy. Dogs are fine and all and I do like them, but I relate to cats.

oh and I like rollerblading.
You should message me if
you want to meet up for coffee, drinks, or a bite to eat. Hang out, converse, have fun... stuff like that. Or if you want to rage, go on a bender, and paint the town red.

Oh and if you want to drink wine and play scrabble or cribbage. I enjoy both, but I'm also terrible at both, so I guess that's good for you.
