My self-summary
I am feline maoist, cat fur, and kenyan revolut'naire

Other possible permutations of Mao/mau includes a Maoist cat, a furry cat, kitty-kitty, fur-fur, as well as, whadayaknow, a card game! Once upon a time, in a foggy little town on the border of Germany and Switzerland, I played it with an old gentleman who just recovered from a stroke... well, I'm very random :-p Perhaps this is why I like learning languages and traveling, which does seem to occasion quite a bit of random connections... If you are also excited by small things making sense in nonsensical ways, let's have some fun together.
What I’m doing with my life
Trying to find new hobbies, after making my hobbies my job (it's like taking the bite of The Apple, or swallowing the red pill of Matrix)

I'm ever so hyperbolic.
I’m really good at
Acting goofy and getting lost...

Now my best qualities are out of way, I'm also decent at not backing off from trying out newrecipes, or trying new things in general. staring at the same thing for a loooooong time: a book, a painting, the window, my cat... I'm also good at coming up with bad Bad jokes... hmmm what else...I can't say I can drink people under the table but I usually surprise them with my tolerance B-). I'm very possibly good at camping and backpacking. Having lived in Boulder gave me a taste of these amazing things and I'd like to experience more.

I very much hope that I'm good at appreciating beautiful things and beautiful people.
The first things people usually notice about me
No clue... My Chinese accent when I say fuck off?!! People always seem to be quite startled and then laugh their ass off

My guess is that I first impress people as an average, nice, and polite Asian chick. Perhaps once a while I can be a source of cognitive dissonance, since I look rather ultrafeminine with my long hair and my love for skirts, but part of me is still like the muddy tomboy from elementary school. It seems that clumsy incongruity is a small leitmotif of my life, like my enjoyment in doing anything mechanical with my bike, even though i'm terrible at it, and it takes me hours. So it makes sense that I like wearing clashing colors, I guess.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
For Chinese, food tends to be on the top of the list of priorities. I'm a sucker for exotic vegetables, and I like trying out new things in general (yeah, I'm belaboring the point). I don't eat much meat but I doubt I'll become a vegetarian, since I can't resist peking duck :(

Latest update: Fun Home by Alison Bechdel. Feel free to suggest more reading materials along this line :)
German Authors (I learned a darn language for them): Thomas Mann, Kafka, Boell, Max Frisch, Friedrich Hoelderlin, Rainer Maria Rilke
Somehow I feel nostalgic for the time of Fitzgerald, Tennessee Williams, Virginia Woolf, T.S. Eliot. And then there is Nabokov... I wish I had read more authors who are still alive, but I can probably only count Murakami Haruki, Stephen King, Margaret Atwood. But Nabokov lives forever...
And then, Delta of Venus. couldn't really fit it anywhere.

recent update: M Butterfly -- which reminds me that I didn't write down my all-time fav Farewell my concubine. I have to mention, art house Chinese movies are a source of hope for me, and this is something i'm very keen on exploring together with anybody interested -- and Mulholland Drive, haunted me for many days...
I like dark humor, and I would collect horror movies if any. I'm a fan of Scandinavian films (Ingmar Bergman) or the rest of the deified directors like Kubrick, Polanski, Fellini, David Lynch, Hitchcock, Kurosawa... But I like not-so-dark comedies too, anything from Woody Allen to Monty Python to Meet the Parents. And of course the BBC Pride and Prejudice Marathon!

this is really hard but I guess I have to come out ... I'm a die-hard classical music fan. not because I have snobbish parents or anything. If you grew up in China before the internet age there wasn't really any good music going for you, and classical music is some good music(!!) But I really love it when people share their music with me. It's always good memories. I'm particularly looking forward to getting to know more about jazz and rock. I've played the piano (classical... of course) for quite some years and it never grows old it seems, and i started learning the guitar (not so classical, just some chords), and ever since enjoying feeling the growing callus on my fingertip
Recently getting into Godspeed Mars Volta etc
The six things I could never do without
books, friends, music, colors, scarfs (even in summer), cats (cats can be good scarfs, by that I mean, living cats).
I spend a lot of time thinking about
No, actually I can't figure it out. Where are my thoughts? I can't find them!!! I don't exist!!!! Tears~~~

I guess I space out too much. Sometimes I conduct symphonies. Is that thought(s)?
On a typical Friday night I am
Ideally: a good meal with friends, a movie, chatting over beer and wine. Cuddling!

But any quality occasion that spices up the every-day a little bit would be nice: concert, theater, checking out exhibitions, lingering in cafes, a walk in good weather under stars. Yeah, all the cliche stuff. Feel free to surprise me.

I also love to dance crazily and get drunk whenever I can afford the recuperation time, but I'm not a party animal. I'm a pretty good party pet though, when people take me.

wow, looking at this is like, i once had a life... feel free to bring life back into me, or bring me back to life, one way or the other
You should message me if
You (a lady please) have no interest in me (sob) but is kind-hearted and would like to show me around ;) I would greatly appreciate that.
