My self-summary
Where does one start? I'm not very good about singing my praises or tooting my own horn. Guess I'll start by saying I'm a daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, niece, and friend. Due to some dramatic changes in my life, I found myself becoming more and more of a home body and soon discovered I'm not content with just staying at home anymore. I'm looking to remedy that situation and would really like to find someone to share my life. I am probably one of the least pretentious/ostentatious woman you'll ever meet. I live a relatively simple and quiet life. But I find myself wanting to share some of those simple things...going on walks in the fall while crunching the leaves, watching the Perseid Meteor Shower, driving real slow along an old country road into a huge autumn harvest moon, smelling freshly mowed alfalfa, walking on the beach, exploring and discovering new places, riding a motorcycle on a hot summer day, canoeing down a river...There's a time and place for solitude but I find even the simple things in life are much more appreciated when they are shared especially with someone who would appreciate them as I do. There is a lot in life I haven't done and I would love to find someone willing to share in my life's adventure.
What I’m doing with my life

I’m really good at
listening, having an intelligent conversation
The first things people usually notice about me
Not sure about this one...hopefully my energetic smile :)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I really don't have a favorite book, movie, etc. I love to find and enjoy a good book to read - be it fiction (the classics, westerns, sci fi, thrillers, horror, historical and MAYBE even a good romance novel if it can be believed) or non (how to, self-help, auto/biographies, histories, etc). I love to read and I will have to admit, it's my favorite pastime; although, as I said earlier, I'm not a "favorite" type of girl. I guess that's due to the joy of discovering new things that life has to offer so why be "hung-up" on one particular thing? Music? Wow! I love music. Did I say I loved music? Understatement! Most any kind of music will do. Music moves me. Depends on my environment or my mood at the time as to what you might catch me listening to. I was raised on bluegrass (my dad played many stringed instruments but his forte was the mandolin). So, as a slightly rebellious teenager, I turned my back on bluegrass and country. Naturally, I grew up and can now even enjoy country and bluegrass. Once again, I really don't have a favorite style of music. I'm open to what moves me at the time; classical, opera, rock, jazz, blues, Cajun, hip hop, Flamenco...As far as food, I do like to eat and have found the older I get the more my taste seems to change. I really do like pickled eggs now! =] I have to admit, I'm not much of a cook unless I have a recipe to follow. I make do and I'm far from starving, and due to budget restraints I rarely eat out. I have been trying to alter my lifestlye and have been more conscientious about what I eat.
Six things I could never do without
this one is difficult because I've never been a materialistic person, most of what I could never do without are intangible
my family, definitley
changing of the seasons
the ability to discover and learn about life
I spend a lot of time thinking about
seeing my mother grow old in a nursing home and having so many of my family pass in such a short time has really got me thinking about my own mortatlity lately. Nothing morbid, I simply wonder sometimes what it's all about? I try to make some sense out of it all and wonder how and/or what I can do or contribute to make the world a better place...
On a typical Friday night I am
lately I have been studying but you can usually catch me reading or watcing a movie
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
let's discover this during a one-on-one conversation
You should message me if
