My self-summary
In the words of Sally Bowles, friends are much harder to find than lovers.

Mayday, serious musician needs to start playing with other people again. I play piano (mostly classical), harp (mostly folk), flute (whatever, can read and improvise), ukulele (mostly strum and sing), and voice (whatever but love jazz). I like most music except black metal and modern country. I would especially love to form a jazz trio, but could be down for whatever. Let's jam.

Also very artsy, I paint, draw, and make jewelry. If you make and sell stuff and want to do craft shows/markets together and split the table cost, I am so down!

My other circus/medicine show tricks include henna body art, Tarot and juggling, and tap dance.

I like parades, marching bands, picnics, libraries, coffee shops, and camping.

I am passionate, energetic, opinionated, spontaneous, gregarious, serious, and defiant.
What I’m doing with my life
Making art, music, working a day job, and being a mother. Planning to go back for my MFA in painting in a few years.
I’m really good at
learning new things.

playing covers on the ukulele and making them my own
The first things people usually notice about me
I tend to be reserved in new surroundings.

Also I'm better one-on-one than in a group... unless I am performing. But in that case, I count as one one and the rest of the group counts as the other one, wouldn't you say?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Music: classical and jazz, plus Frank Zappa, Joanna Newsom, Melissa Etheridge, David Bowie, Michael Jackson, Julie Andrews, The Byrds, Janis Joplin, Rich Willey & Boptism, but especially playing music myself.

p.s. live music is special..... even something simple or mediocre can be ultra moving if it hits you at the right moment.

Food: I like a variety, but sushi is a big favorite.
Six things I could never do without
my offspring
family/friends
musical instruments
art supplies
physical contact
progress

Six things I CAN and DO do without:

broadcast television (commercialsrbadnrealitysucks)
'energy' drinks, supplements, strips, etc
gambling
wrestling- i.e. WW-anything
NASCAR
dates who like gambling, wrestling, or NASCAR
I spend a lot of time thinking about
how I think too much
On a typical Friday night I am
Working, then thinking about going out afterward and not doing it.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
is that I always want more- cuz I'm intense, man. :P

also: I find text messages unsatisfying.
however, I love handwritten notes...

...sometimes I flip my shit in iambic pentameter (j/k, i wish!)
You should message me if
if you are looking for new friends

if you want to get together to draw or sketch the view out of some window somewhere (or to sketch each other, for that matter)

if you have a burning question to ask

if you are not going to address me as 'u'

if you are on a (50-week) town-run from Pennsic

if you're looking for a Spanish conversation partner

if you make jewelry or are interested in doing craft shows or vending at events

if you like parks, coffee shops drawing, writing, making music, or have small children, since I have one too.
