My self-summary
Hey, visitor! My name is Justin.

I am a laid-back creative type hoping to find someone to go on dates with me and make me laugh and then I'll make them laugh and we'll stare into each other's eyes and it will be a whole thing.

I am looking for someone who is relaxed and kind, respects their intelligence, and who appreciates the appeal of Game of Thrones but is ultimately ambivalent to it.

I don't drink, but not in a pretentious or religious way.

Hablo español, pero solamente las palabras pequeñas.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm an optician to pay the bills while I write screenplays/draw comic books in my spare time.

In the future, I want to write, do art, or make films. Or maybe teach. I’ll get back to you on this one. Most likely I’ll be poor though. I think it would be cool to own my own bookstore before they cease to exist.
I’m really good at
Creative endeavors, cooking, investigating mysteries, inventing origin stories for strangers, and accidentally making enemies.
The first things people usually notice about me
When people first meet me, for some reason, they think I'm above average in happiness and optimism, which is funny to me because I don't really see that in myself. I guess I'm just not an asshole, which is new to a lot of people. Either that comes up first, or my awkwardness and unluckiness, if of course, I was currently unlucky and met them awkwardly. One time I fell backwards down a set of stairs at a bakery while trying to be charming, which actually led to a brief but fulfilling relationship with the manager.

My honest face draws in crazies in almost any environment.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books - Y: The Last Man and other BKV, Scott Pilgrim, Breakfast of Champions and other Kurt Vonnegut, the work of Jonathan Hickman, specifically his Fantastic Four/FF run, Hawkeye, my X-Men collection is about to outgrow it's three file cabinet home. Current pull list includes Kaptara, Sex Criminals, East of West, Saga, the Wicked + the Divine... This is a very short list that does not quantify the fact that I worked at a bookstore for years and read most anything I can get my hands on. Love comedy and non-fiction.

Movies - Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, About a Boy, Wet Hot American Summer, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, (500) Days of Summer, Little Miss Sunshine, Kings of Summer, Serenity, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, X-Men, X2, NOT X3, Avengers, Winter Soldier. Bratz is the worst movie I have ever seen, so bad that it has looped back around to being one of the most brilliant masterpieces ever committed to film.

Television - Orphan Black, Adventure Time, Comedy Bang Bang, Nathan For You, Please Like Me, Jane the Virgin, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Last Week Tonight, Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, @midnight, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Arrested Development, Wonderfalls, Community, Veronica Mars, Firefly, Pushing Daisies, Greek, Dead Like Me, Dollhouse, Never Mind the Buzzcocks (Amstell era), the Soup (<3 Joel McHale)

Music - I'm madly in love with Kevin Devine because he's a genius and a poet. Also, the Thermals, the Cribs, Cursive, the Hives, Bad Books, Generationals, the Front Bottoms, Brand New, Sufjan Stevens, Elliott Smith, Tegan & Sara... others.

I rarely eat, but if you must know, I like Mexican, Thai, and milkshakes. And any application of chicken. I could be a vegetarian if it weren't for chicken.
Six things I could never do without
Family, friend family, a notebook and pen, a camera, air conditioning, and my sense of self.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Who I am. Where I'm going. Why the fuck I just did that. Simon Amstell. The usual.
On a typical Friday night I am
Trash talking people while playing board games at Denny's (or working)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I like to eat sandwiches in 16 bites in 4x4 grids, but I'm not a serial killer.
You should message me if
You want to date a less funny American John Oliver.

You don't use the term "straight acting," except if maybe you're saying something like, "do you really think you should be using the term 'straight acting?'"

You think we'd make an unbeatable team, as friends or for fighting crime.
The two of us
