My self-summary
I'd like to meet any sort of person really, a pen-pal or a potential date. I'm laid back, so don't be afraid of sending me a message. I tend to tolerate loneliness very well, but it's been getting to me lately.

I have peculiar political and religious positions, but am tolerant of disagreement and not judgmental. However I do enjoy healthy debate; if you're turned off by respectful discussion of stuff and like to just not think about it or talk about it, I would probably make you feel uncomfortable. I think effective communication is how ideas are refined.

I am intellectual, wacky, and honest
What I’m doing with my life
Trying my best not to go utterly and completely batshit.

I live by myself in a small apartment with 5 fish and a cat. The cat and I are not on speaking terms.
I’m really good at
Making friends! Making computers do what I want. Making people believe I am younger and/or cooler than I really am. More nebulous things, like conceptualizing and simplifying abstract problems, detecting patterns, and collecting useless trivia.

Hmm...I just realized I'm useless.

But, I promise to make you laugh.
The first things people usually notice about me
My tattoos (five of them). I'm Rick James, bitch. In khakis and a t-shirt. Trust me, I make it look good.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I've read entirely too many to be expected to remember their names or anything. As far as fiction goes, Tolkien stands out, as do Stephen R. Donaldson and Stephen King. I read a lot of non-fiction (science, history, philosophy). I highly recommend the Holy Bible, by God.

Movies: The Passion of the Christ, and the LOTR films. Most movies out today blow, however, so I'll list my other favorites. Taxi Driver. Scarface. Blue Velvet. Apocolypse Now. Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. American Beauty. 2001: A Space Odyssey. The Deer Hunter. Raging Bull. The Grapes of Wrath. The Elephant Man. Vanilla Sky. Rushmore. Hud. The Royal Tannenbaums. Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb. You know, good ones.

Bands/Artists: 311, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Aesop Rock, The Beatles, Tupac Shakur, Weezer, Elton John, Eminem, Creedance Clearwater Revival, Yes, Beastie Boys, Steve Miller Band, Frank Zappa, Outkast, Queen. I'm eclectic like that.

Foods: Meat and potatoes. American. No mud food. Get that Indian "cuisine" away from me. I don't do colorful piles of unidentifiable goo.

Six things I could never do without
1. God. 2. The kindness of strangers. 3. My mom. 4. A computer. 5. Music. 6. Laughter.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The replies to this query could very well be limitless. Very often, important things like life, God, or geopolitics. Very often silly things, like my own neurosis or why some words start to sound very alien after you repeat them a few times.
On a typical Friday night I am
Probably doing the same thing I was doing Thursday night. Not much, but given company and the opportunity I love going out. Movies, the park, the zoo, dinner...just not much of a barhopper.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm reeeeaaaal fucked up. Honestly, I'm a little off in the head. But I'm not dangerous, and actually quite charming. I TAKE MY MEDS. :-)

Also, curvy girls very welcome :) Stick figures are gross.
