My self-summary
Tattooed, pierced, biker, metalhead, teacher!
Not all loud music and engines though - do have a quiet side - honestly!
What I’m doing with my life
Single mum with two teenagers at home - plus their friends and members of the band my son plays in! I relish quiet time though (have to shut myself away in my bedroom to enjoy a bit of peace and quiet though) - am caring and empathetic, really enjoy my work which is incredibly important to me...took years of studying with two small children to get where I am, so I guess I can be determined and focused when I have a goal in mind. Having said that, I do seem to have the attention span of a gnat at the moment...partucularly when it comes to diy in the house...start something and then get bored halfway through the job!

I taught primary school for eight years and left my last school after six years. Was very humbling on my final day to have parents as well as the children crying and hugging me. Now enjoying the challenge of teaching secondary English; felt it was time for a slight career change as I didn't want to become too complicit (now I've written that I don't know if that's the word I was looking for....sat here for 10 minutes trying to think of how to explain the move! What a great English teacher I am!) ah, hang on, it's come to me now...COMPLACENT!

My quieter side involves alternative therapies such as aromatherapy, massage, meditation and Reiki. I am a Reiki master in both traditonal Usiui and Tibetan Reiki.

So, to sum up; I enjoy my career, love and appreciate quiet moments as my life revolves around kids (which I like to think gives me a younger outlook on life - I'll keep kidding myself). Seems that I get told off quite often for embarrassing the kids..but isn't that the whole purpose of being a parent?

Recovering from a rare cancer at the moment...radiotherapy, surgery, complications, more surgery - lost a large chunk of my gastrocnemius (calf muscle) and having to use crutches to walk - hopefully I won't need them for the rest of my life - very thankful that I didn;t have to have chemo
I’m really good at
spelling but not so good at grammar!
reading - even big words
making poached eggs but my dippy eggs are always either too hard or have runny white - any egg boiling tips?
The first things people usually notice about me
My big, expressive, green eyes....or so they say.
My laugh - can range from a Sid James dirty chuckle, witch like cackle to a whole body shudder!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Read far too much...historical, crime, thrillers...take advantage of two for one offers in supermarkets and have read almost all of Terry Pratchett's novels. Love kids books and sharing them with my nieces and nephews now that my own 'babies' are now too old for Going On A Bear Hunt, Kipper and Owl Babies.

The bands I listen to are System of a Down, Disturbed, Metallica, Five Fingered Death Punch, The Stranglers - I do listen to quieter stuff now and again though, I promise.
Six things I could never do without
Books - pure escapism - very often read until the early hours of the morning!
Coffee - at least two for breakfast in a vain attempt to wake me up in the morning - countless others during the day to keep me awake! Need far more coffee after getting caught up in a really good book.
Cheese - especially brie, camembert and cambazola...nothing tastier than a really ripe camembert that runs off the knife and whose smell invades the whole house!
Exclamation marks - along with elipses, they are my favourite form of punctuation - no idea why!!!
Refuse to count my children, brother, sister in law and nieces and nephews in this section as, clearly, they are not things - I couldn't however, be without them.
Sound of a growling bike engine - phwoarr - nuff said!
Soft loo roll - thank goodness the tracing paper of 1970's childhood is a thing of the very distant past!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Lessons I might teach - usually wake up at stupid o'clock with a lesson idea running around in my head and have to get out of bed to write it down because I just know I'll have forgotten it by the time the morning arrives!

I used to spend alot of time wondering why dog poo isn't white anymore like it was in the seventies, but then, with the invention of the inernet, I asked Jeeves and I don't have to wonder any longer.

Perhaps I should spend some time thinking about whether or not I should be taking a short holiday with the men in white coats.
On a typical Friday night I am
Either listening to local bands, babysitting or practising my guilty pleasure!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I once had a tattoo on a first date...not that that was the date...anyways, the poor guy looked really uncomfortable surrounded by hairy bikers and goth types...needless to say, there wasn't a second date!
You should message me if don't like skinny birds and prefer curves!
