My self-summary
Artist-turned-musician-turned-published journalist who is a slave to corporate America but can still exhibit youthful rebelliousness in small doses from time to time.

I'm a Pisces. I exercise exhaustively (literally.) I live on reasonable means, and I consider myself a minimalist (and that is not code for "poor" I just assume eat spaghetti and spend money on things that create long lasting memories....or delicious baked goods.)

I'm a creative type, however I'm my own biggest critic.

I have a dog named nico and a cat named Russell.

I prefer craft beer but appreciate good wine and I still try to grow beards from time to time. Also, I must note that my photos are from when my hair was long and rebellious. Now it's more short and maintained, however still exhibits a carefree youthfulness of a Hollywood actor.
What I’m doing with my life
I work a basic uninteresting day job and go to school pursuing a degree in communications.

I am also a music writer for the Dallas Observer. I get paid to go to shows for free from time to time and interview band's a fun job but someone's got to do it

I also collect vinyl and polaroid cameras. I have a few guitars laying around and my art supplies successfully collect plenty of dust in my closet...
I’m really good at
I hate saying I'm really good at anything....

I play guitar, bass, drums, synths, and on occasion, the ukelele.

I'm really good at listening (music or conversation, both are equally fun). Running a 5k. Dancing like an old man. Vegetarian cooking (particularly with 90's hip-hop playing in the background.) Laundry. Dog petting. Instruments. Occasional laughter. Enjoying time off to the max. Making amazing mix tapes (CDs and playlists). It is a difficult art form that took me years to perfect.
The first things people usually notice about me
My uncanny wit. Er, rather my extreme dark and mysterious nature. I actually don't know what people notice about me. My bow tie probably.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Favorite books....authors rather. Thompson, Vonnegut, Bukowski, Cormac MacCarthy, you know, the usual...

Movies....directors rather. George Lucas, Woody Allen, John Cassavetes, PT Anderson, Michael Mann, Martin Scorcese, Wes Anderson, the Cohen Bros., etc...'s complicated. My favorites, extremely condensed are, Joy Division, Orange Juice, Television Personalities, The Smiths, Jonathan Richman, New Order, Os Mutantes, Pavement, Notorious BIG, Kate Bush, Gang Starr, A Tribe Called Quest, Curtis Mayfield, Ariel Pink, Wire, Talking heads, Shellac..etc

TV... Louie is the best thing to happen to television.....besides that, Parks and Recreation, The Office, Arrested Development, Game of Thrones, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Breaking Bad, Kids in the Hall, Chopped...

Food....I'm a pescatarian. Fish and veggies.
Six things I could never do without
Oxygen. Food. Sleep. A heart. Hmmmm... That's really it. But that's only four.... So, coconut water, and ice cream sandwiches.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What words to say. What words to write.
On a typical Friday night I am
I'm not a night owl by any means, that is to say, I don't particularly "party" anymore, but I enjoy a night out from time to time. I'd rather have a breakfast date in the morning than a night out at a bar. I do go out, but not often. Not by choice mind you, school and work permitting.... I almost wrote "be in bed at a decent time" but then no one would message me...I like going to shows, small pubs, etc.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I regularly sing "Do You Remember the Riots?" by Jens Lekman in the shower. It is the best song to sing in the shower, and if you don't believe me, here is the best 2 1/2 minutes of duet ever written in the past decade, maybe more...
You should message me if
You are genuine and kind. I know most dudes are out to get to know girls physically, I'm however the exact opposite. Which may be a bad thing, I know not.

I find that a good set of brains are way more attractive to me than a good set of..well anything else. I prefer to date women who are smarter than I, which shouldn't exclude too many people.
The two of us
