I used to be a drummer (actually played in a lesbian band for awhile) and like to keep up with music, but still have a soft spot for old punk rock. I'm happily divorced with 2 great boys (6 and 9). I am kind, considerate, funny, generous, curious, interested in new things and new people and don't mind a little or a lot of change in life. I'm open minded politically, but tend to lean left.
I may have grown up quite a bit, but there is still that guy in there who did stage dives at a Buzzcocks show in Tijuana and could moon people while I drove. I like women who are a bit like that too. Not crazy... completely sane, but a little wild.
I sometimes wonder if I'd rather hear a story of the time you successfully did not go to Burning Man.
And trying to get off this site.
Music: Nick Cave, Andrew Bird, New Pornographers, Iggy Pop, Frank Black, The Hold Steady, Steve Poltz, The Buzzcocks, The Replacements (I just went to NYC to see them play), The Beat Farmers, The Playground Slap.
Shows: Mad Men, Eastbound and Down, Mystery Diners, Real Time w/Bill Maher, Daily Show. More into Jon Stewart than Colbert.
Books: we can talk about that. Tom Robbins, I like to read Christopher Hitchens, Sam Harris, Richard Dawkins, Penn Jillette lately... a book on how brains work, also a lot of motivational things for a project I'm doing.

Why women post the photo of them looking their skinniest.... instead, why don't you post the photo of you looking your happiest?
Also why someone brags about not owning or watching TV. Is it that horrible to occasionally operate a machine that shows you free movies, documentaries and other great entertainment?
I don't believe in luck, I believe in skill... and many days I do feel the need to wear my skillful underpants.
You are kind and see the power in kindness. It does not make you weak.
You dont believe love is transactional... And sex is quid pro quo. You saw Pretty Woman and found it backwards and repugnant for progressive women. There are plenty of more romantic stories than that of a prostitute finding a rich guy to love.
I've learned that a lot of men will behave in a way that makes women regret they took the date. That doesn't happen with me. I can assure you that I'm all about making someone have a good time over a drink or dinner. And I'm a divorced guy and no longer "fresh" out of a relationship. I'm happy, comfortable, and don't complain about my ex. I'm at the point where I'd like to head toward a relationship.
Here's where things work out better between you and I: If you are more left leaning politically, if you are open to the idea that religion might be a fabrication, and if you burn hot with curiosity and wonder, we will have many good times.
