My self-summary
I realize that I've been ignoring this site for quite a while now. That's due to the fact that I've been seeing a sweet lady for over a year now.
I won't be looking for anyone on this site any more, as long as she continues to let me stalk her, and we continue to enjoy spending time together. Best luck to all.

I'm a chameleon - I can fit into a wide range of situations - Mussorgsky to Muddy Waters, moules-frites to meatloaf, Levi's to Lauren (Ralph, not Sophia). Given the choice, I do prefer to be casual and relaxed in my daily life. I'm lucky in that I love what I do with my free time as well as with my work. I'm generous with my self, my time, and my stuff; sometimes to a fault.
I'm very active and healthy, curious, candid and spontaneous, funny and sarcastic. I often show a child-like openness in my output, especially to those with whom I'm close.
I'm open minded and flexible. I appreciate the differences in people and I value the new/different things I learn from the people I meet. I don't expect my partner to be just like me.
I took the 'Find your REAL age' test here on OKC and it says I'm REALLY 41 years old. It says it in ALL CAPS, so it MUST be true. Actually, I want to stress that point; I live with the attitude and speed of a 40-something-year-old.
As a freelance professional in the arts, I have a non-mainstream lifestyle. I'm all about music and photography for my main careers - CLICK HERE if you want to see some of what I've done with photography.
And cliché of clichés, my friends say I'm a Renaissance man, but that's probably because I can fix their computers.
"Words are my toys and I love to play." - me
What I’m doing with my life
Maintaining an authentic, focused, and somewhat eclectic lifestyle, balancing careers in music and photography, repairing my friends' computers and small appliances, and hovering around other folks' home cooking. I love movies and read, both fiction and non. I can easily (and often do) teach myself new skills. I'm also wondering where the apostrophe correctly goes in the word 'folks'' two sentences ago.
I’m really good at
Listening and being supportive, physical and emotional intimacy - I'm a good family member. Being low maintenance. Also daydreaming and thinking I'm oh, so terribly clever...
The first things people usually notice about me
Maybe that I'm lively or talkative. Maybe that I'm slender.
People sometimes first see me playing drums, so maybe they notice that I can be loud.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Lately, I've been watching mostly indie films like 'Another Earth,' 'The First Grader,' 'The Lady' (by Luc Besson), the Iranian film, 'A Separation,' and then there's 'Brazil,' 'Round Midnight,' 'Sideways,' 'Trouble In Mind,' lots of Europeans, plus Hitchcock, Woody Allen, Robert Altman, Mel Brooks and Monty Python, I love a good film noir, psychological thrillers and so many more. Wide variety keeps me going strong.
I play drums professionally and I perform and listen to jazz, r'n'b, and lots of Americana, like Ry Cooder, Bill Evans, Taj Mahal, Stevie Wonder, Ahmad Jamal, Weather Report, Ray Charles, Miles Davis, The Meters, Dr. John, The Neville Bros., Bonnie Raitt, Nora Jones, The Band. I also listen to classical, reggae, blues and lots of other genres of music. I'm not crazy about opera in general, but recently I was moved to tears listening to Nessun Dorma, and then I searched and found several other fine operatic moments. Maybe my tastes are changing - again.
Then there are the healthy foods & the unhealthy foods, Italian, sushi, Thai soups and noodles, French, Mexican, Greek, Morrocan Tagines, Middle Eastern, Asian. Not enough room here...I do eat mostly very healthy food and I keep myself in very good shape. I've got a nice body and I'm not afraid to use it. I don't cook but I'm an amazing eater, could be a professional - or at least a contender.
Six things I could never do without
the i'net
my camera
my mind-numbingly clever sense of humor
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Philosophy, music, art, what makes women so attractive to me, how/why things work, work vs. play, comedy, life, death
On a typical Friday night I am
Performing music, watching movies at home, reading, listening to music in a bar, restauranting around town. It varies week to week.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I cried out loud during three movies this year. At least one of them was a comedy.

It was suggested to me that I should post the following info and I encourage others to do so as well:
