My self-summary
I'm bright, ambitious and funny. Somehow I've retained most of my midwestern sensibilities after following a twisted path and setting down roots in Brooklyn. I'm looking for someone to explore life with.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm always pushing myself to be a better leader, a better teacher and a better psychiatrist. I'm raising my two fantastic sons (11 and 13), and I'm trying to socially reinvent myself. So I'm trying new things. This week I got a Citibike membership. May seem like nothing big, but for me it's a thrill, and a symbol of growth and freedom.
I’m really good at
Talking to anyone. I love connecting with people and learning about their lives and perspectives. I have a good memory and I enjoy eating everything.

People say I'm really good at my job, but I don't talk about that until people get to know me, because its a little unusual, and a more than a little dark.
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably my eyes, but I wish it was my sense of humor. I also have unusually soft hands for a man, so people notice that if we shake. Seriously I am capable of manual labor, but my hands just don't callous. Seriously. . .
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I'm more of a generalist than a connoisseur. That means I like everything from art museums to trash tv. Occasionally I'm accused of having bad taste in entertainment (my sick interest in Michael Jackson, Kesha and Britney Spears raises eyebrows) but the reality is I like super cool stuff my friends clue me into as well, I just refuse to flaunt it. To me that snobbery is the height of bad taste.

That said, the last movie I saw was Finding Dory (I sobbed quietly in the dark- if you didn't, no need to match with me because you have a heart of stone). The last book I read was Ender's Game, and the last song I downloaded was from Desmond Dekker-"Problems" (it helped after a rough week).

I'm an adventurous eater and typically order the most exotic thing on the menu.
The six things I could never do without
My iPhone
My job
My bat hoody
My suits
My Prius
My laptop
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My work, or some new pointless fascination when I need a break from it. Last week it was bread making; this week it is electricity. Next week it could be anything. . . Usually it's something that is skill or knowledge building.

I like to come up with strategies to overcome obstacles in my path. Why must I have so many? Good thing I enjoy a challenge.

When something really important is happening I usually have a dream related to it and I think about the dream for a week. My dreams tell me the truth I hide from myself.
On a typical Friday night I am
Having dinner with the boys.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I own two aprons.
You should message me if
You like to talk and laugh. You look good and you can teach me something about life.
