My self-summary
I know things about stuff :) My background is in physics and computer animation, though I'm currently helping people understand technology.

Back in school, now for a Masters in Engineering. Focusing on image processing with a nod to VR, and a minor obsession with retro-futurism.

I am geeky, witty, and easily distract...ooh shiny!
What I’m doing with my life
For work, I help people and technology see eye to eye. Beyond that, I love a good conversation, meal, movie, game, or (preferably) all of the above. I'm also perpetually tweaking my website,
I’m really good at
Absorbing, distilling and disseminating information.
I'm very good at thinking about things. Sometimes to the point of distraction, but I think I can think about things.

Most often, this is in the form of problem solving. If you're curious about how to best view stereo photography from the turn-of-the-century, just ask!
The first things people usually notice about me
People tend to notice my height, smile, and/or eyes first. After that, it's usually whatever random thing I've just said.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Hitchhiker's Guide series, Cat's Cradle, Dimension of Miracles, Thing Explainer, The Diamond Age, anything by Neil Gaiman or Damiel H Wilson
Cloud Atlas, The LEGO Movie, District 9, Star Trek (2009), Memento, Lost in Translation, Waiting for Guffman, Iron Giant, The Incredibles
Doctor Who, Sherlock, Downton Abbey, Warehouse 13, Big Bang Theory, CSI (Gil Grissom era), Coupling, Are You Being Served?
Pentatonix, Coldplay, Capital Cities, Vampire Weekend, the work of Bobby Lopez & collaborators, Beethoven, Karl Jenkins, Billie Holiday, Jay Brannan, Ben Vaughn, Benny Golson, Glenn Miller (my iPod is on shuffle…)
Anything that's not staring back at me. Seriously. I've tried. Can't eat something that's looking back at me, even if it does happen to be tempura shrimp head. Other than that, not a terribly picky eater. Favorites would include crispy eggplant parmesan, Japanese curry, anything chocolate...
Six things I could never do without
The Internet
my voice (spoken, written, electronic, or otherwise; voice in the figurative sense)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Ways to make interesting things. I'm a sucker for interesting interaction design. I think a lot about ways to make things a little bit better. Something about a journey starting with a single step…make one thing a little bit better, iterate, and change the world.
On a typical Friday night I am
I'm likely at work. Or working on a project or paper. If not, I'd be relaxing; catching up on some TV from the week, surfing the internet, reading, or maybe making something with polymer clay.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I just spent an hour editing this page, adding content, tweaking it, trying to get to five hundred words (of course all while doing seventeen other things on my Mac) instead of doing something more productive with my morning. Admittedly I did have some unexpected free time so all isn't for naught.

You're a really hoopy frood who knows what I'm quoting ;)
You're a closet Doctor Who fan. Or a not so closeted Doctor Who fan, who knows Sylvester McCoy is the best Doctor of the classic era.
You want to learn more.
You feel like saying hello.
