My self-summary
I am ready to settle down, but I'm not ready to settle.

My name is Mark and I live downtown by Millennium Park. It has come to my attention that most women think my profile name means I like the park. I mean, really?

I am laid back but goal-oriented. I'm open to new things, but I know what I want. I enjoy conversation and banter because it allows my wit and sarcasm to come out. I love making people laugh, and like a woman who can call me out when I need to be. Openness, honesty and compassion are high on my list.

I'm attracted to smart women with a positive attitude, self-confidence and a good nature about them. I know that no one is perfect, but sometimes people are perfect for one another.

I can dance til dawn, or enjoy a quiet evening in. For me, it's more about the person I'm with than what we are doing.

I've never been married and have no children.

Oh, and one last thing: Ladies, please stop contacting me just for sex. I'm not just a piece of meat. Sure I like sex as much as the next guy (and probably more), but I'm not going to come to your place and engage in coitus after only seeing pics and exchanging a few emails with you. If you want the goods, you're going to have to earn them.

What I’m doing with my life
I own a small consulting business and work for myself doing corporate training consultation. I'm also aspiring to be a professional songwriter, so in my spare time, I write and record music. I play guitar and write everything - drums, bass, guitars, melodies and lyrics - but since I can't sing very well, i hire singers for vocals. You can hear my first 10 songs at I also write a Bears blog (

Playing pool, catching a band or laying down some tracks
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I cry whenever I watch Jerry Maguire. And seriously, ladies, you don't have to say you're not willing to share private things here, or that revealing them would no longer make them private. Use your imagination and share the most private thing that you are WILLING to share publicly. That's the idea.
You should message me if
you like to laugh,
you like to discuss world issues,
you like, or would like to learn how, to play pool,
you prefer honesty, and/or
your booty is large and in charge
