My self-summary
Professional science geek turned patent attorney, passionate kitesurfer, yogi, international traveler and polyglot seeking soulmate to share life and adventure with.

I've been working for the NIH for the past 10 years in their Technology Transfer Office and love interfacing with some of the cutting edge minds in biotech and health science. I really feel quite lucky having grown up in the area and having the NIH in my backyard. What an amazing place full of amazing people.

To decompress, if there's no wind to kitesurf, I'll either go for a run or do some other water sport (surf, SUP, kayak). Truth be told, I am happiest when in and around the ocean.

I'm a good cook. Despite the amazing restaurant choices we get spoiled with near Logan Circle and on 14th street I'll stay in some nights. Grilling is a particular specialty; surely there's no holier triumvirate than man, fire and meat. I also like to cook anything spicy especially if mediterranean.

I come from a close Jewish family of Eastern European and Sephardi decent. My parents are close to me and live not too far away. We consider ourselves intellectually and culturally Jewish rather than religious. That said I consider myself a very pro-Israel Jewish atheist.
What I’m doing with my life
kitesurfing, yoga, and traveling.

I work in Biotech (technically patent law (it pays for the above).

My coworkers say that work is a place I go in between vacations.
I’m really good at
finding things to do.
Making a meal out of nothing.
Finding good deals on travel
Finding good deals on electronics
fixing appliances
fixing computers
growing parsley, sage, rosemary (ok that one isn't rocket science) and thyme.
Apparently, I've been told that I'm really good at vacuuming. Who knew?
Making people laugh...at/near me.
Pretending I work for the Mumbai based call center for Spirit Airlines.
The first things people usually notice about me
Green eyes
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Downtime means curled up with either a comic book (don't judge :-)), some popular science non-fiction especially on quantum mechanics, theoretical physics, chaos theory, architecture or sci-fi fantasy book. Malcolm Gladwell and David McKraney have been on my reading list sixth months ago now on to Leonard Susskind on black holes. Fell in love with the futurist musings of Buckminster Fuller and Arthur C Clark. Also like watching shows on ancient and medieval history or all the period pieces you find these days on StarZ and HBO.

I'm a JRR Tolkien and CS Lewis fan. Its accurate to say that Tolkien was responsible for the formative years of my literary life.

I like theater and usually lean toward the classics (Shakespeare, Marlow, Moliere, etc…)

Music: thievery corporation, led zeppelin, basically classic guitar rock, the Police, The Doors, Bob Dylan, Aerosmith, Tom Petty, basically a lot of classic rock, Mozart, Handel, Sarah Jarosz, Haydn, Iron Maiden, Federico Aubele, Coldplay.
Six things I could never do without
water (to drink and to play in)
Vitamin C
Belgian Beer
I spend a lot of time thinking about
yoga, kitesurfing, kiteboarding, the ocean, the Higgs mechanism, black hole entropy, quantum physics, architecture, patterns in nature, human interaction with technology and with the natural world, triangles, spheres, icosahedrons, the golden ratio, why do female tennis players grunt like frenzied banshees? Why are Italian soccer players such primadonnas? the universe and everything.
Keeping my house plant, which is ostensibly a cactus, happy.
On a typical Friday night I am
out with friends or grilling on the rooftop. If cold, defer to neighborhood bar, if bitter cold defer to cup of tea and good book.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have a man crush on the Dos Equis man

and I've been known to eat Nutella with a spoon.
