My self-summary
Originally from Florida, went to college in DC, then moved to Chicago and have been here for 16 years. I love it here -- except for the never-ending winter. What else ? I make people laugh. I love 80’s music and movies, and will challenge anyone to argue that the 80’s wasn’t the greatest era in pop culture (I mean, come on: the same decade gave us jeans jackets, Zubaz, Miami Vice, MTV, Duran Duran, and Pac-Man!). My passion is live entertainment (sports, concerts, theater, etc), which is a good thing since I work in the entertainment industry. I’m a HUGE football fan, so if my significant other wants to hang out on Sundays in the fall, she’d better like football too. If you're a Bears fan, even better: we can make bets when they play my Packers, and when I win, you'll have to wear nothing but my cheesehead around the house for the rest of the night.

I’m an avid traveler---my favorite global spots so far have been Prague, Sydney, Barcelona, Stockholm, Queenstown, Helsinki, San Francisco, and, of course, Chicago. My short list of other favorite things: the beach, being home on rainy days, playing basketball, scuba diving, chocolate chip cookies, good bagels, New York pizza, finding a great bottle of wine, Game of Thrones, tenacity, spontaneity, integrity, intelligence. Things to do next: learn photography, take a long vacation around South America, go to a Super Bowl, and meet a great girl (who looks good in a cheesehead).

Is OKCupid the right place for that ? Yikes.....I'm really not sure. But I have to admit, when they say that someone is only 10% compatible with me, and then I read their profile/questions, all I can say is .... WOW -- OKCupid may know what they're talking about ! On the other hand, I guess it's a good thing to know someone's preferences about threesomes and oral sex before you've even learned their name, right ? Seriously....those questions are HILARIOUS !!!! Go answer them so we can compare notes !!!
What I’m doing with my life
I own a sports technology company. Even though it's hard work, I love what I do, so I'm very lucky. I get to see sporting events and concerts around the country, which is a great perk.
I’m really good at
...planning adventures. Whether it's long vacations, group trips to Ravinia, beer/wine tastings, or whatever --- I'm usually the ringleader.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm always smiling.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Sushi, steak, pizza, cheese, wine, 80's music, Airplane, Caddyshack, Game of Thrones, Summer Shandy, Modern Family. I'm not a big book reader -- I can't sit still for that long.
Six things I could never do without
My friends
NFL football
Southwest Airlines (best airline EVER!)
Pizza (NY style, foldable, delicious)
the beach or pool
my cell phone
I spend a lot of time thinking about
....if it will be sunny tomorrow. If anyone will see me taking the last cookie. How long I'm supposed to bake this for. Why people stop right in front of escalators. If there's a better price on this somewhere. Where my next vacation should be. If I'm going to make it to the airport on time. Why abs aren't sold at department stores. Whether I should have mint chocolate chip or chocolate chip (or some of both).
On a typical Friday night I am
I like taking it easy on Friday nights. I travel a lot, so Fridays are often about a bottle of wine, some good food, and relaxing. On Saturday nights I'll be out with friends for dinner and drinks, or at a concert or ball game.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
You wouldn't catch me dead buying US Weekly at the grocery store. But if you leave one around the house, I'll probably read it cover-to-cover. Those things are addictive.
You should message me if know how to enjoy life and have fun, regardless of where you are or what you're doing. I want to find someone who can always find the silver lining, and can appreciate the little things in life. If you're funny, interesting, smart, pretty, and think that online dating is something you totally shouldn't have to be doing. If you think that funny, interesting, smart, nice guys without abs are super sexy (or even moderately sexy). Oh....and if you can sew. I can't sew, and can't seem to learn how, so it would be nice if you could save me from that. (I really only need to sew once every 4-5 years, but still....)
