My self-summary
Nerdy fellow from the rugged glens of the north, forging ambitions in the flat but vibrant south. Drawn to water and combinations of kindness and cleverness. Been called a gentle giant, old soul and dark horse. Adjectives: logical, sensible, thoughtful, creative, passionate, daft, awkward.

Loyal, giving and affectionate towards my wolf pack and here looking to initiate someone special.
What I’m doing with my life
I work as a civil servant in Edinburgh and like it. I play 8-string guitar. I like to cook, read and walk - albeit separately. I am currently excavating old Tai Chi and meditation skills.

Travelled and lived all over Scotland and bits of Northern England, but only recently remedied the condition of never having been abroad. I want to do it again and again!

I like words. I keep several journals and write stories about other worlds. Mad for all things linguistics, and my Italian is almost in usable condition. Hopefully other languages to follow.
I’m really good at
Collecting quartz and condiments. Leaving little projects unfinished. Unnecessarily apologising. Overthinking. Taking photo's of green things. Having a calming influence, apparently. Being there and listening to people when things are hard. Making up rude-sounding words. Groping Soreen packets for optimum squidge. Listening to the critical voice in my head. Maintaining the delusion that etymology and other nerdy subjects make for good flirting.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Where to begin? My favourite writers are definitely Hannu Rajaniemi and Ciaron Ò Dochartaigh. I am looking forward to the new 'Thrones and Vikings. I enjoy TED talks and digging through Netflix. I listen a lot of music, but gravitate towards ambient and melodic electronic stuff, bits of jazz, soundtracks, silly but brilliant Youtube stuff, and progressive metal.
Six things I could never do without
The obvious biological necessities.
An outlet for creativity or curiosity.
Fine company.
My sabre – this is pretty much a desert island list and there might be cannibals.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Where my life might go. The things I'd like to do with it. How to be a good person that I would be happy being. Subjects that interest me and the things I want to write about. Hobbies I want to take up. How my favourite people do some of the amazing things that they do. Things I would like to acquire or probably should have done last week.
On a typical Friday night I am
There isn't really such a thing a thing as typical here. I am often at home, exhaling the stress of the week.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Did you know that ‘guacamole’ comes from the Nahuatl for ‘testicle sauce’?

More seriously, I have an anxiety disorder as well as a condition called trichotillomania.
You should message me if
...this sounds like your flavour of cheesecake.
