My self-summary
I don't understand why people complain about having to fill this section out. I love reading a well thought out, self-aware personal statement. Yeah, it's can be hard to sum yourself up in a few short paragraphs, but I believe that knowing yourself is the key to a creating fulfilling interpersonal relationships that work. Yes, I see the irony that I'm complaining about complaining...

I am a ENFP and a nurturer. I am relatively fast paced and prefer people over things. I am a generous, loyal, and caring friend and am always willing to listen. I am sustained by the relationships in my life.

I enjoy collaborative creativity. Over the years, I have seen the folly of doing it all "my way" and am much more interested in co-creation. I enjoy cooking, making music, building businesses, throwing parties, and designing amazing things. I am just as willing to be the copilot as I am to sit in the driver seat.

I believe that love lasts forever - relationships change, but love remains. I still maintain friendships with each of my exes. I am exploring loving without fear of loosing and always being open to the deepest connections available to me. I don't sleep around, but I do have a strong desire to give and receive love. Experience has taught me that I am a serial monogamist.

I have three children (11 girl, 10 girl, and 7 boy). I love them very much and they are with me half of the time. They are an important part of my life, but not the only part. I am not specifically looking to have another child.

I haven't traveled much in the past 10 years, but I have long dreamed of exploring Central and South America - something about ancient Mayan and Aztec ruins just speaks to me in the most mysterious way.

I'm pretty public on Facebook, so you can learn more about me at:
What I’m doing with my life
I run a coworking space called "Studio West" in Ithaca where freelancers and small companies share professional space and resources.

I also run a small software company called "Think Topography". We are in the process of launching a collaborative management system called 'the MAHA Platform' that helps teams collaborate and communicate more effectively and transparently. Maha means 'greatness' in Sanskrit.

I am rediscovering myself as a musician and performer. I play piano and guitar and working on becoming a better songwriter and singer. I have been attending more local open mic events and have been getting together with other musicians more regularly to get comfortable playing in a group.
I’m really good at
active listening
hugging and cuddling
collaborative cooking
rolling a joint
being a loyal friend
some other stuff that's kinda private, but maybe someday I'll show you...
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm told that I have a very distinctive walk. I guess it's even been called a "swagger"...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Anything by Dr. Seuss. If you're well read in his work, you will frequently catch references that slip out in my conversational banter. I just love that man...

I spend a lot of time thinking about
We exist in a space that is created between us and those with whom we are in relationship. We are containers for one another's souls and live within every person with whom we authentically share our selves.
On a typical Friday night I am
With my kids. Going out with friends. Playing music. Dancing. Cooking healthy vegan food. Watching a movie. Taking a long walk around town. I don't know - it depends on the night! Not sure I have a typical one...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I worry that the people I love the most are more important to me than I am to them. Its a totally irrational fear, but one which have carried with me for much of my life.
You should message me if
You're interested in an online correspondence that could be enough in and of itself. It doesn't need to be anything more or less than it is, but it could be amazing and beautiful.

You sing and/or play an instrument and would like to get together and make music.

NOTE: I sometimes feel intimidated by how cool y'all appear on your profiles. It occurs to me that perhaps, others may feel the same way about me (and perhaps not...). At any rate, I'm actually super friendly and really easy to talk to. If you have any interest in connecting, please don't be shy to write (or write back...)
