My self-summary
Californian living in Champaign, managing a cafe, generally happy.
What I’m doing with my life
Does anyone really know, though? Plans: do things that make me happy, stop doing the things that don't make me happy.
I’m really good at
Being creative or doing creative activities - crafting, sewing etc. Well, at least that is what I like to do. Really passionate about things and developing new skills. I'm really straightforward and honest, and really loyal. I'm good at planning events and organizing, too.
The first things people usually notice about me
My glasses and my frizzy hair.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Doctor Who, Absolutely Fabulous, Dexter, Royal Tennenbaums, Sherlock, Battlestar Galactica, How I Met Your Mother (only for Neil and Jason), 30 Rock, Eternal Sunshine, The Muppets (anything), Star Wars (does this even need saying?), and the list goes on...

I've recently discovered that I derive my moral compass from the stories I watch. From the list I will let you infer which ones are most influential.

I absolutely adore fiction. The most recent book I have read was from Ursula Le Guin. I love everything by John Steinbeck. I worshipped Shakespeare and Virginia Wolf as a teenager. Some of my current top favorite authors are Isabel Allende and Dave Eggers. It makes me sad that for the past few years I haven't had time to read more.

But my all time favorite book is The Autobiography of Malcolm X. And if you think that is strange I suggest you go and read it. Really. It's amazing.

Eclectic taste in music. Most genres except for pop country and modern jaz. I sing Adele all the time. Shut up. Stop judging me.
Six things I could never do without
A giant bag to keep my laptop in, a notebook and pens, something to read - which are all things I find necessary. Black or blue jeans. And my glasses, because I wouldn't be able to see and people would stop thinking I look smart.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Work, my cats, whatever television series I am obsessing over, things I should be doing but am not...
On a typical Friday night I am
Whatever is awesome! going out or staying in. Depends on the week I have had.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm super self conscious and am always judging myself in relation to others. I have a vanity that extends from my insecurity. I can be really stubborn at times, and blunt to the point of rudeness (not intentional). These are things I am always working on. Oh yeah, and my most embarrassing secret, which I am afraid to admit and which should be on my list of things that I cannot live without is hair product.
You should message me if
You aren't an asshole. Have a strong social group and have a sense of responsibility for yourself and other. You don't mind starting things easy, are intelligent with a good sense of humor. For the love of Darwin, please have a sense of humor. Please do not be homophobic, racist or anything of the kind. Don't message me something really generic and non-conversation starter, like "hey there" "hi beautiful" "how are you?". I will not respond because I am so bored I have already moved on to someone I can actually talk to. If you are the type of person to write this, maybe consider not sending me a message.
