My self-summary
Well, lesseeeee. I'm a Texas boy, born and raised. I love Americana music, beer, camping, hiking and other shit. A particularly blunt female friend of mine recently told me that I need to step up my OKC game because every single dude on here lists some variation of the above things in their summary. I LIKE WHAT I LIKE, OKAY? Maybe I should be trolling OKC for dude friends, since apparently we all have so much in common.

I'm moving back to Austin at the end of the month after a stint in Nashville doing the whole dude-with-a-guitar-and-a-lot-of-feelings thing. I've got some mixed emotions about coming home, but I'm hoping to meet some interesting people that will challenge me and make this new chapter feel less like a step backward and more like a.... new chapter? I wanna go out and do fun things and have new experiences and hit up all the weird punny-named food trucks and east-side hipster bars that have opened in my absence. Srsly, let's go out and have fun.
What I’m doing with my life
Over the last couple years I've had a highly varied string of occupations ranging from trailbuilder to bartender to flower delivery man. Currently, I'm making my living doing freelance writing/PR work, but once I'm back in Austin I'll also be working a few days a week at Crown and Anchor to make some extra dolla billz. Music is my true passion *cue involuntary eye-roll*, so when I'm not hustlin', that's what I'm working towards. Living in Austin, you've probably heard that story a million times before-- I'll spare ya the details.
I’m really good at
Coming up with fake band names. Better at hula hooping than you might expect. I can also chug a 16 oz. beer in less than 3 seconds. I don't know if that's necessarily something I should be advertising here, but we can't always choose our gifts.
The first things people usually notice about me
I dunno... Friendly disposition? At the moment I have a haircut straight out of That 70's Show, so maybe that. Also a lot of my shirts look like they were bought at a truck stop somewhere in New Mexico, so I get a lot of comments from strangers about that.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
John Prine. Townes Van Zandt. Bob Dylan. Shovels and Rope. Ryan Adams. Jenny Lewis. Hayes Carll. Todd Snider. Gillian Welch. Emmylou Harris. Fleetwood Mac. Willie Nelson. Jason Isbell. Brandi Carlile. Dawes. Joe Pug. I've got a healthy appreciation for the contemporary, but honestly I spend a lot more of my time listening to old records.

As far as books go, I tend to gravitate towards history-related stuff. Currently reading a biography of Kit Carson. Last thing I read was Todd Snider's memoir (if you've read it, please message me and let's talk about how awesome it was).

TV: Louie, X-Files, 30 Rock, Bojack Horseman, OITNB, Better Call Saul, Parks and Rec, Breaking Bad, Battlestar Galactica, Arrested Development.

Movies: Mostly just Back to the Future.

I like most foods. A lot. Vietnamese and pizza are at the top of the list. I'm more than excited to be back in the land of greasy Tex-Mex.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to make my OK Cupid profile sound less insufferable.
On a typical Friday night I am
Painting the town.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
When I was 17 I got my heart broken by a (future) Grammy-nominated bluegrass wunderkind.
