My self-summary
I've moved to NYC to work in finance and volunteer at the Prospect Park Zoo (I can do a mean dance with a macaw).

I'm an assortment of places, experiences, and things. I appeared, fully formed, from Oklahoma City and Lima, Peru.

I live in Park Slope and sometimes worry if the line between yuppie and Patrick Bateman isn't a little blurry.
What I’m doing with my life
Working in finance, while figuring what all to be involved with. So far I'm busily joining museums, picking an opera company, and volunteering at the zoo. I'm also exploring all of the food of Park Slope, so by next month I'll have my block covered.
I’m really good at
I've been told I tell a good ancedote. Managing data and middle school students. Remembering random stories. Finding new places to go and things to do.
The first things people usually notice about me
Either that I'm tall or I've said something terribly offensive and mostly facetious.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Consuming and discussing media is one of my primary joys. I'm always happy to go to the movies for the experience of going to the movies or going to a bookstore. I've lived in NYC for less than 48 hours and my book collection is already growing...

I'm a sucker for Philip Roth. Beyond that, recent favorites include New York 1960 (Stern), Gang Leader for a Day (Venkatesh) Skin (Jackson), Inherent Vice (Pynchon).

My favorite directors are P.T. Anderson and Robert Altman. For 2013 my top picks so far are Frances Ha and Fast and the Furious 6.

For music I'll try just about anything (including rap and country). Right now I'm alternating heavily between Gergiev and D'Angelo. I enjoy opera as well, if anyone under 30 wants to go the opera, I'm game.

I love going out to eat, and look forward to discovering the food of NYC. I'm also willing and able to travel almost anywhere if the food is right. I've gone to Connecticut for food, which is far more horrific than it sounds.

OKCupid doesn't have a place for art, but despite getting into art via art auctions I always enjoy going to galleries and the Met. My favorite artists right now are probably Gerhard Richter and Louise Lawler.
Six things I could never do without
1. News. I'm a junkie.
2. Media to enjoy.
3. Restaurants to go out to.
4. Architecture books and architecture to look out.
5. Ability to travel from time to time.
6. Movie theaters.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
A lot time goes into economics, politics, and architecture. Sometimes wondering if I can wander into an interesting building, or if heckling real business cycle economists will get me banned from UChicago.
On a typical Friday night I am
Exploring NYC.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I eat quite a bit of foie gras.
You should message me if
